I have found a town called Valence, like the frill on bed linen or curtains (Valence). I found a place called Crest which might go with the knight's shield. But the Cromer clue is misleading me. Cromer is famous for crabs, the pier and lifeboats. The Cromer crest or coat of arms has three black ravens on it! Which may go with the Black Knight? Just some random thoughts this week!
The Nyons market is gorgeous, full of lavander, soaps, poteries, olives, spices and the château de Grignan great too. You are close, go North and look for a keep.
