SMALLS SAL 02/25

Rachel is hosting the Smalls SAL, on the last Friday of the month everyone is encourage to post about small stitchings and I'd love to join this SAL regularly adding sometimes my small DIY.

Some small knittings and crochet for Soline wool shop her grandfather made for her in a wood box.

I have crocheted some small scarves, tiny knittings on bun pins and cut some small magazines where she'll be able to glue pictures from a catalog.

About Smalls, two good news to share...
I have found back my lost Christmas not so ugly small sweaters  (in a box under my bed). I was so sorry to have lost my losbster, snow globe, cactus... They are all together now, great occasion to take a memory picture!    41 small sweaters!

and packing back the Christmas village I found my sewing cissors under the "ground" paper!

JJJ 16 LE JEUDI DU JUNK JOURNAL

Junk Journaling is back, first I have found an idea to show my button book!

I thought a buttons jar would be nice, I have cut a shape and sewn it, make a small pocket to welcome the story and attach it to a top.

I have glued a ribbon for a nice lid and put small real buttons in the bottom.

J'ai trouvé comment "exposer" mon livre bouton !

Speaking of buttons, I have seen a lot of nice DIY made with them and wanted to add a special page in my JJ. Probably for the 2nd tome as it will be a little too thick for my first project already a belly one.

The idea was to sew some buttons with perlé cotton making some patterns in the way of those pictures

Of course I could use real flat buttons but the goal isn't to buy something so I cut button shapes in a kind of wood food tray and made holes. I will probably shade the edges and look for a white or beige Aïda fabric to sew them on.

There is a lot of pockets examples on JJ tutos, most often it's your stash which decides of your project. I have found those four pockets from a stamp magazine and that will be perfect for a clockwise direction pocket page.

I have covered them with 4 flowered papers I got as Christmas present.

I have decided that will be a Tilda dedicated page so I have cut four cards in an old paper book I have bought years ago.

In the box where I put junk papers, envelops, ads... I have kept an advertising we received with our coffee maker kind of paper flower with shaped petals you can open like a fan.

Such nice colors and I'll cover the back with colored papers and add sewings pictures cut in magazines.

A NEW BABY ALBUM 2

Baby boy or baby girl?

We'll know next April...  but for the moment I'm making a birth album.

Ten pages to prepare with old ideas as a link to the first one I made two years ago for the big brother and adding some new ones + maybe some JJ ideas.

I'm keeping the kite page...

Nouvelle version du cerf volant.

The first album had a fork nest and I have chosen this times a swallow Mum and her two kids.

Here is the woven nest

and the two babies

Au lieu du nid de cigognes
cette fois l'album va accueillir
une maman hirondelle et ses petits oisillons

Après avoir tissé ce nid d'angle
ajout de plumes de faisan de mon stock
d'une époque révolue.

I have a full bag of different feathers from a pheasant and I'm not sure I already told you the pheasant story.

I have glued some small feathers

Years ago I worked in an electrical    society and we used to invite some clients to participate to a hunt in Sologne. Usually it was the job of the boss secretary to organise every thing but one year I had to take her place and her boss used to bring her a wild bird.

That's how I found myself with a pheasant on my desk! What do you do in this unexpected situation? I called my Mum! But she wasn't a great cook and finally a collegue told me that I could give it to a charcutier who would make pâtés with it.

So proud to have found one in my one town, I called back my Mum and she asked me : "does the bird have to be plucked". I didn't thought of that! No time to loose, I had to deliver the bird after my work day and before going to the Nanny get my daughters.

Only a lunch break...  so you could have seen a crazy girl in her small car on the supermarket parking plucking a pheasant with energy and a lot of down fluttering around me.

Of course the shopkeeper told me later that it was not needed, I don't regret because every times I need feathers it gave me a good occasion to laugh about that day.

Instead of the baby bed I had the idea of a baby bath.

Again the memory of a birth card, but sometimes between the idea and find the way to do it there could be some distance.

I'm glad with the result : a vintage bath tube shape, a bath foam made with protection  , a faucet made with a handle of a chocolate umbrella.

I have cut a small bath towel with fringes (not very realistic) but I love it.

I had a train on the big brother album and for this one I chose sailing boats. You can take them off and I have add some plush sailors cut in the same serie.

Have you ever seen baby elephants flying, here they are.

Made with the same pattern that my JJ's one, a kind of pocket with a bear head button

A welcoming Teddy bear going to bed

WIPOCALYPSE 02/25

Time to share with Melissa and the Wipocalypse family the projects we want to complete before the end of the world.

On FB or  https://measi.net/

+++  2025 is the year of  "more of" +++

A few more stitches on my two WIP, more brown on the left side of the dress and more flowers on the left side of the Lady

and a new project for an April baby

More scrapbooking/JJ / Plus de cartonnage

I'll still have my homemade birthdays cards, previously shown for the GG post but a new project had joined the top of my list with the Junk Journaling it's a new baby album I'll have to prepare for a new baby coming in a friend's family.

It will be for Pierre little brother or sister so I'll make the same kind of album.

Instead of a train this time I thought of boats, then I needed a sea and thought it could be fun to be able to take off the boats from the waves to put or write something on them.

so the masts and sails will be glued and the folded rounds will be slid in.

I have a page with a baby mobil, four young elephants ready to receive pictures or informations on their backs.

There will be a nest with two babies and a swallow Mum
and a Teddy bear in his bed

More details in a future special album post with a special feathers story!

More sewing / Plus de couture

The sewing WIP is about fabric dominoes for the big brother
