SMALL SAL 08/25

 

 Rachel is hosting the Smalls SAL, on the last Friday of the month everyone is encouraged to post about small stitchings and I'd love to join this SAL regularly adding sometimes my small DIY.

Smalls SAL est organisé par Rachel et nous propose de montrer nos petites broderies. J'aimerai bien y participer régulièrement et ainsi avoir un nouveau rendez-vous sur le blog le dernier vendredi du mois en y ajoutant quelque fois mes petits bricolages.

Nothing really new, but this month I finished my bagpipe which is a small music instrument for a gnome, so it's counting. The bag is cut in two old elbow patches (probably from the 80es).

The tiny tassels were quite a challenge to do. Small often means tricky!

I had already made small tassels for my felt camels but tried this time the crossed heads ones.

Ma gnome écossaise m'a donné quelques occasions de fabriquer de petits accessoires : une cornemuse et ses pompons glands et un sporran à la bonne échelle.

Mes fuseaux de lavande sont petits mais ce n'est pas un choix, en effet cette année les fleurs sont peu rondelettes.

Enfin, ma montre gousset est terminée et comme elle peut tenir dans une poche parfaite pour ce SAL.

My lavander spindles weren't small by choice but unfortunately this year the lavander is poor meaning no big heads.

with an half point stitch on a ugly fabric I bought years ago on a market because knowing something about linen fabric...

white, black and two different greys threads

the edge of the dial is stitched with metallic perlé DMC 5 M - silver  5283 and 5317

glued on paper, cut around as for perforated paper and I added a crochet chain made with the two metallic threads. I'm happy with the final look.

I had a sticker with an image of an old clock shop, I cut a line for a pocket. 

J'ai crocheté une chaînette avec les fils métalliques et fabriqué une poche avec une étiquette au motif "magasin d'horloge" belle époque.

Je suis assez contente du résultat.

I have also found some tiny stickers (probably kept for more than 30 years, from a cheese box) six little images with a lion having some troubles with clocks! 

It make me thought of a comic strip and I got the idea of gluing them on a black stripe to look like the negative of a film. I have abandoned the idea of folding it in a secret pocket, I think it's funnier this way and not so weird to mix more classic designs with cartoon look design on the same page.

J'ajoute petit à petit de nouvelles idées à ma double page "à la recherche du temps à utiliser", autour du pop up du milieu, sur le côté droit il y a maintenant cette petite bande dessinée façon négatif avec six petites images d'un lion ayant quelques problèmes avec des pendules. Je suis retombée sur cette série d'autocollants publicitaires pour une marque de fromage qui doivent avoir plus de trente ans ! J'ai tout d'abord hésité à la présenter et ai pensé la plier dans une pochette mais cela ne me gêne plus de mélanger les styles classique et cartoon.

I already showed you this WIP, the black page was waiting for some new ideas for the final finish.     

I decided I'll add ribbons, charms, threads, fabric, pins...

First add ribbons on the edges, I'm keeping the pink main color and found two different styles in my bags. A small pink ribbon and a larger croquet one.

Dernier en cours pour cet article, en manque d'inspiration j'avais mis de côté (et un peu perdu ou trop bien rangé) ma page découpée qui attendait quelques idées de déco. L'ajout de rubans, de breloques, de fil et de tissu est bien sûr évident mais sera parfait, donc je fouille dans mes boîtes pour des petites trouvailles toutes roses. Pour commencer : des ruban et croquet.

PETIT TOUR A BEAUGENCY

 Petite sortie hier vers Beaugency pour un déjeuner au restaurant "Chez Henri II" puis une ballade dans le bourg et visite d'une expo de photos de Robert Doisneau sur le thème des grandes vacances.

 Yesterday, we took a short trip to Beaugency for lunch at the restaurant “Chez Henri II,” followed by a visit through the village to an exhibition of Robert Doisneau's photographs on the theme of summer vacations.

Déjeuner délicieux composé d'une terrine de cochon accompagnée d'une gelée de cornichons et de pain maison, effiloché de canard aux légumes croquants et carpaccio d'ananas confit au citron et gingembre avec sorbet de mangue.

Still on my "time themed" Junk Journal page, I'm stitching a clock.

Quelques progrès sur ma montre au point de croix.

I have also found some tiny stickers (probably kept for more than 30 years, from a cheese box)  those six little images with a lion having some troubles with clocks! It make me thought of a comic strip and I got the idea of gluing them on a black stripe to look like the negative of a film.

Don't know yet if I'll fold it or keep it like this.

J'ai retrouvé des autocollants publicitaires trouvés au siècle dernier dans une boîte de fromages ! De petites vignettes représentant un gentil lion ayant pas mal de soucis avec des horloges. La taille des images m'a fait penser aux images d'un film et j'ai voulu les présenter comme un négatif. 

Initialement je pensais plier la bande et la glisser dans une pochette mais elle me plait également telle qu'elle est. A voir.

J'ai enfin réalisé mon pliage en escargot avec 7 rectangles pliés en deux en suivant un tuto sur YT

(double maze card

from Love for crafts).

J'ai pensé l'utiliser plus tard pour présenter des échantillons de tissus dans lesquels j'ai cousu des vêtements il y a plusieurs années.

I have also finished my handybag (same pattern I use for birthday cards)

with one front pocket.

Le patron de ma carte "sac à main" sera utilisé cette fois pour un livret sac à ajouter dans mon JJ.

Not sure I posted about courgettes spaghettis, it's so easy to cook.

I'm not a big fan of courgettes, but I often cooked them in gratin with ham or stuffed. I tested spaghettis in a restaurant and became addict.

Sorry I thought of taking a picture too late...

Au menu ce mois-ci les tomates farcies

les pieds du jardin donnent différentes variétés et grosseurs

Ma farce sera faite d'un mélange d'échine de porc ajoutée à de la viande de boeuf hachée, oignons, persil et bien sûr riz de Camargue pour l'absorption du jus des tomates et du gruyère rapé.
