GIFTED GORGEOUSNESS 12/23

It's always nice to make gifts, nice too to receive some
and use them in our stitching projects.

It's great and fun to show all this and the perfect place is
on Jo's blog Serendipitous Stitching on the 15th of each month
for the Gifted Gorgeousness post.

Last month I have shown some gifts I made for Soline
here she is, very focused on her magic wallet

This GG post will be about the Christmas ornies I make for friends
to send with my greetings cards

I have already made this pattern last year (only twice I think)
so I was happy to cut new "bells" (I now hand sew) and cake plates to offer some donuts for Christmas,

I wanted a new shape for a shaking ornie
and I love the cups I can see on the net
I have posted about how I made them in the C2C5 post

Soline will be 8 years old on December the 31th

For this busy week, I made for her a "triple party card"
First to celebrate Christmas,

then her birthday,

then the New Year.

Those lovely pad of images are sold with English wishes so I cut small garlands of pennants to wish her an Happy Birthday and Happy New Year.

Here are the front image and the back design when the card is closed

The all card opened, top view, kind of carousel book.

I'll end this post with my unicorn, a gifted stitching from last Christmas.
Still working on the bottom of the pattern with flowers and a bunny.

ADVENT CALENDAR "13th"

 Ho, Ho, Ho...

Here you are, on December the 13 th,

visiting me for the Advent Calendar Blog Hop from Jo

https://serendipitousstitching.blogspot.com

As in previous years, each day in December a blogger has be assigned a date and will invite you to come in her house and see some of the pretty embroideries or decorations she made this year.

Here are my 2023 ornaments, cups full of sequins and warm wishes for a great Christmas.

No big story about Santa in my youth, we were living far from the family so Christmas was very quiet.

With our three daughters it was more festive...

More than 25 years ago, we had a great Christmas at home with the visit of my cousin Christine family. We were all gathered when the phone rang and Santa himself asked to speak to DD2 Anne-Solène who was about 6 years old. I remember her look and how she answered a few questions about having be nice or not. Thanks to the new mobile phones, her dad was in our bedroom calling our home!

Knocking at the door of the blog "Tales of a stitching mouse" Mouse is welcoming us with a nice stitching about St Nick. It gave me the idea that it could be great to stitch Christmas smalls with all the names we give to the big guy...   Père Noël, Saint Nicolas, Père Chalande (dialect Savoie), Olentzero (pays Basque), Santa Claus, St Nick, Christkindel  etc.  Maybe one day...

FULLY FINISHED GALLERY 12/23

It's the 10th of this month and Rachel from "Ten Hour Stitcher" welcome us and our Fully Finished achievements.

Please visit her blog and see all the finished projects of our stitching friends.

https://tenhourstitcher.blogspot.com/2023/11/link-up-for-fully-finished-gallery-sal.html

I have six characters waiting for a full finish, I have cut cardboard, fleece and two fabrics but was waiting for a nice cord to sew around.

Here are the patterns of Cuore e Batticuore

Some recent shopping in Sostrene Grene shop in town

For the stitching on beige fabric I'll use the red/gold string and the green fabric with trees for the back. The string is sewed around with
a fishing line so fine I can hardly see it!

For the stitching on white fabric I'll use the white/gold string and the white fabric with hearts for the back.

Here are my two finishes, I hope you'll see the all team in next January post with maybe some charms added to the knot.

Thanks to Rachel and her SAL,  2023 has been a fairly productive year.

It's great to feel supported on finishing the job!

I hope I'll be able to post monthly in 2024 which would mean that I am not giving up on full finishes.

C2C5

    n° 5

Those past days I have focused on cards / ornies (wishing I could send my mail soon enough my friends get them before Christmas!).

Ces derniers jours, je me suis concentrée sur la fabrication de cartes et décorations en espérant ainsi pouvoir envoyer mes courriers rapidement pour une réception avant Noël;

Some pop up cards are on my working table, decorated with the cute characters I found in those paper bloks

First a small landscape 3D card

With some kind of velum baubles in the back

Then a cosy warm room in a folded card

I choose a cardboard looking like wall paper for my room
and add a carpet with DMC perlé thread

Then I thought it could be fun to put a door and behind this cute bear
bringing the Christmas tree

Soline's birthday will be on the 31st December between Christmas and the New Year Day so I'm making a 3 events card with 3 littles sceneries welcoming small cute animals.

To give relief I glue some thick carboard

Shaking ornies

I have cut some red cups and after trying to sew them with the sewing machine but I don't like the result so I'm sewing them by hand with a nice gold thread I bought last year in Lunéville.

I'll fill them with sequins and a small spoon.

Thought I could add some cream and finally cut the Chantilly shape in paper towels, small pink marshmallows and straws.

I tried to glue some glitter on the straws but it doesn't work and finally i made some oblique stripes like candy canes with washi tape and I like it.
Still have to add patafix to feel the holes and keep the sequins inside.

Yesterday as there was no classes in Timothé school, I had the help of an elf tree builder!
