Looking for some fabric for a summer dress, I haven't found yet, I discovered a colorful piece of fabric I bought years ago to make a top. I have forgotten it for too long and instead of the dress I intend to cut I decided to make a kind of poncho top easy to do.

As the size of the fabric coupon is the same but not my waistline I have made two big bows to close the sides that give me the few centimeters missing!

Perfect place to show you mon second Fully Finish this month, my necklace I have described in the last post.

COLLIERS / BEADING

 I'm back to play with beads and threads!

For a long long time I missed making necklaces and with all that you can see on the net it's painful to think that I have boxes full of beads, threads and don't use them. Shame on me!

I must say that since I'm retired I'm more relax on my look... outfits, hair, make up and jewels.

But I love all sorts of beads and I have bought some nice one some years ago in a shop in Dieppe and some bags of beads and sequins visiting Lunéville. it's on my todo list for too many years and it's time for action.

First I love long necklaces like "sautoir" or "opéra", I don't know why but I am not longer at ease with something close to my neck!

My first project is to make a small rope "cordelière" with DMC metallic pink 5852 associated with coton perlé n° 5 beige 738.

First I had those two lovely buttons with Paris views I bought in Toulon!

I have selected some tiny flowers, charms, buttons to sew on the rope
in an harmony of colors from white to green.

I want to attach a tassel at the bottom of the rope made with the same DMC threads.

Then I wanted to have a link to embroidery with a tiny hoop with scissors and spool, all made with real gold DMC thread (given it a jewel look).

I don't need a clasp so I'm attaching the two ends and making a blanket stitch with the metallic thread (not the best one I have made but metallic isn't my favourite thread).

WIPOCALYPSE 06/25

Time to share with Melissa and the Wipocalypse family the projects we want to complete before the end of the world.

On FB or  https://measi.net/

+++  2025 is the year of  "more of" +++

+++ Point de croix / More cross stitching!

My two projects : Lady and the unicorn and the Spirit of Christmas Carols  on perforated paper.

+++ Crochet / More crochet

I have started to put together some of my crocheted squares.

I have to find back some fabric I thought I could cut a dress in, have already look in a lot of boxes but no success yet. Keep trying!

+++ Jardinage / More gardening

In June, there was a lot of cleaning and maintenance to do, and a few new friends to replant following our stay in Provence.

Near our rental, we discovered “Escoffier”, a nursery whose greenhouses were overflowing with flowers, plants and trees.

I was looking for a climbing plant to grow on a dead shrub for my project at the bottom of the garden. Poor soil, lot of shade under the pine and prunus.

In the meantime, my plantations from last year are giving me beautiful flowers and surrounding the branches as I'd hoped!

On vacation in Brittany years ago, I spotted a magnificent species with red and yellow bells : an Abitulon. Never find one in a garden center but lucky me, I spotted a plant at Escoffier. It has travelled back (700 km) in the car.

It needs sun, so the gardener advised me to leave it in a pot for a few weeks to see if it likes the place where I want to plant it. It seems to like it so I have replanted it (early in the morning before the heatwave)

+++  Couture / More sewing

You have already seen my small whale bag.

+++ Bricolage / DIY

Some news from my gnome, I got more orange cordonet, "untwisted" it and added it in the hair. I made two braids. I'm sewing the beret.

I'm working too on the bagpipe, I have made the wood sticks brown with coffee and found some nice wooden bead I can cut to use on the chanter.

++++  More cooking / Cuisine

Clafoutis aux cerises / Cherries clafoutis

++++ Colliers / necklaces

Making a tassel with coton perlé for a necklace.

++++ Cartonnage / Scrapbooking

Allways working on birthday cards.

Question of the Month:  Half-year recap:  How are you doing with your goals so far this year?

Well, not too bad, I try to follow my todo list and even though I'm not so productive during those (too) hot days, I'm glad to have some nice finishes.
