COUNTDOWN TO CHRISTMAS 3

We are back from our family trip where I was lucky to spend some funny hours with my Goddaughter's daughter Soline who will be soon 10 years old. I gave her the Christmas crafts kits I prepared and we made some paper ornaments and cards together.

De retour de Fagnières où nous avons passé un délicieux séjour. J'ai pu bricoler avec Soline, notamment réaliser des ornements de papiers pliés et la carte sapin pompons (parties de mes DIY kits).

I'm back with a "YOU WON'T BELIEVE ME" gift...

A homemade advent calendar...

in a lovely fabric sewed bag...   only a quick look not to be spoiled...

there is a small kind of envelops note-pad with instructions!

So more news on December the 1st!

Une magnifique surprise m'attendait... un calendrier de l'avent présenté dans un superbe sac en tissu, j'ai juste jeté un petit coup d'oeil rapide et je vous montre le carnet d'enveloppes qui contient les instructions.

Here are my 2020 / 2021 / 2022 / 2023 / 2024 collections

Depuis cinq ans je fabrique avec grand plaisir

une collection de "pulls de Noël pas si moches", mini sweat en feutrine

Voici les modèles des collections 2020 / 2021 / 2022/ 2023 / 2024

Parmi les nouvelles idées à tester si le format d'environ 3cm/3cm s'y prête, j'ai pensé à : flocon, vache, renard, bretzel, houx, verre, patins, bougie, tasse, lutin, glaces, balançoire, skis, cubes, mots croisés,

pélican, chevalier, panneau pôle nord, ange, montgolfière

décors liés à l'univers de A. Christie, HP ou 007 ...

Déjà quelques ébauches de dessins sur mes brouillons.

I thought I could make  :
bretzel, snowflake, holly, elf, candle, mug, ice cream

fox, martini drink, skates, cow, swing, cubes, crosswords

knight, North Pôle sign, angel, air balloon

something linked to A. Christie, HP or 007 univers...

Some are already on my drawing draft pages

I watched on YT some videos on the London Christmas shopping

in Harrods, John Lewis or Selfridges

London or royal ornaments of course

but also astonishing themes : gardening, dinosaurs,

funny trees on cooking theme for example with shining small

kitchen utensils, bag of pop corn 

or even Camembert cheese hanging from the branches

but I also found this lovely Highland cow

and now I want it on my pullovers

and I have to find a way to make it work

shining cow's horns would be great to give a Christmas look

and maybe I'll add a kind of ruff too as on the model

What about a basket full of carrotts for Rudolph, it looks funny too!

Visites très amusantes dans les grands magasins londoniens

comme Harrods, John Lewis ou Selfridges

parmi les rayons remplis de décors de Noël plus étonnants les uns que les autres, du thème du jardin aux dinosaures

des sapins couverts d'ustensiles de cuisine brillants, de pop corn

ou même de part de camembert !

Mais quand j'ai aperçu cette jolie vache des Highlands

j'ai tout de suite eu envie de l'avoir sur mes pulls.

En rouvrant mes boîtes j'ai retrouvé quelques en-cours :

une machine à coudre, une abeille et une branche

puis j'ai commencé le pélican et le verre d'apéritif

I want to share with you some family photos of my daughter who is a nurse in our blood sampling service here. She collects blood from volontary donors (as plasma and blood platelets) for our hospitals.

She loves to decorate her working room and give a warm welcome!

Voici la salle de prélèvement à l'EFS où ma fille ainée aime accueillir ses donneurs de sang avec style !

Capucine a choisi "la mariée sanglante" - costume fait maison - pour son dernier jour d'école avant les congés d'automne.

Capucine chose "the bloody bride" - homemade costume - for the last day of school on October the 17th.

I made some DIY kits to bring to Soline and share funny hours together making decorations.

Question of the Month:  What retreats or stitching events would you love to attend someday?

Unfortunately I don't have any retreat or events nearby! Years ago I could find some classes (I had a hardanger classe once or some watercolor and scrapbooking lessons). Nothing interesting yet so thanks to some YouTube crafters I find some inspiration watching their videos.

JJJ 27 LE JEUDI DU JUNK JOURNAL

 

The last tuto from Treasure Books that I watched was about pyramidal mini albums. As I needed to offer myself a little unscheduled treat, I made two with some ancient egypt patterns paper I have bought for a next Junk Journal dedicated to Egypt of the Pharaohs. The first will have four pages.

 

Le dernier tuto de Treasure Books que j'ai visionné concernait de mini albums pyramides très mignons et j'avais besoin d'un petit plaisir hors programme. En sachant que j'aimerai fabriquer un junk journal sur le thème de l'égypte ancienne ce sera parfait.

Premier essai avec un petit modèle centré confectionné avec 4 livrets.

Deuxième choix : le montage en zigzag

L'occasion d'utiliser de vieux cartons d'un ancien album du bureau présentant des installations électriques, tout d'abord décoller les photos, puis trier les cartons noirs de qualités différentes.

Six pochettes assemblées en inversant l'ouverture et en intercalant des carrés colorés.

I need a lot of black paper so it's the perfect time to use some old sheets of light cardboards from an old album from my office with old photos of electrical installations.

The six pockets are glued together reversing the opening sides and inserting colored papers.

Les cartons ont parfois été abimés lors du décollage des photos et l'intérieur des pochettes sera habillé de papier ou cartes. Je rajouterai également de mini ornements comme dans l'exemple montré par Natasa.

Some of the old black cardboards have been dammaged when I have taken off the photos so inside the pockets I'll glue some papers or cards.

Natasa also shows one album on which she adds tiny ornies between the sheets of paper. It's lovely so I'll make some small tassels pompoms, ansate cross, maybe sew beads. 

The countdown to Christmas will give me the perfect moment to put a new JJ on my list : a Christmas Junk Journal!

All the family and friends cards I kept, great memories, kids photos, ads, menus, nice gifts papers, Santas, really need to gather in an album I will like to open during the winter season!

So to make the signatures, back to my bags of papers, envelops, cardboards, fabrics to cut pages I'll sew together.

Cette période de Countdown to Christmas va me donner le prétexte parfait pour ajouter un JJ sur ma liste : un Junk Journal de Noël !

L'occasion de rassembler en un ouvrage à feuilleter toutes ces jolies cartes reçues pour les fêtes, souvenirs de famille et d'amis, photos, Père Noël, chromos, pubs de marchés de Noël etc...

Première étape : assembler papiers, cartons, enveloppes, tissus pour réaliser les signatures.
