A small cross stitching for March birthdays cards.

DD2 and DSiL3 are big fans of Asian food and I have kept in mind a lovely card I saw years ago with a bowl full of noodles.

I made a first attempt on a light fabric but the pattern looked too small. Then I found these medium brown Aïda fabric perfect for my pattern size and a great color for the contrast.

Voici la première de mes cartes d'anniversaire brodées pour mars, Anne-Solène et Benjamin sont de grands amateurs de nourriture asiatique et j'avais envie depuis longtemps de broder ce bol de pâtes !

Après un premier essai sur une toile claire, le résultat donnait un bol trop petit. Cette toile Aïda marron s'est révélée parfaite pour ce modèle autant pour la taille du motif que pour le contraste des couleurs.

A NEW BABY ALBUM

More scrapbooking will be easier with a new unplanned project...

In May 2023, Pierre was born in a friend's family, his Mum Laurine gave us the good news last Autumn that a new baby was expected for the spring.

I have made three gifts for her son, a stitched bib, a sewed fabric toy and a birth album.

I think I still have some ready to stitch bib somewhere in my boxes so I'll have to think about a pattern, maybe think about a sewed toy too and of course make a birth album. For sure make something for Pierre too!

I have ten pages to prepare with old ideas as a link to the first one and to add some new ones I thought I could use some JJ ideas.

I have already chosen to make the kite again, a musical page maybe this time with a xylophone, tiny envelopes, same shape for the birth date.

Here is the future kite

and as new ideas   :  a baby in a tub, a baby bear in its bed, maybe sailing boats instead of the train, an elephant mobil, dragonflies, a swallow's nest, a folded paper box and paper pocket tested in my Junk Journal.

I made a baby bed for Pierre's album and this time I saw a cute baby on a card in his bath and found it will be fun to put it in the album.

Vintage shape tub, some bath foam from package protection foam, a gooseneck bath faucet made from the handle of a chocolate umbrella from Easter! I'll add a towel but don't know yet if it will be a sponge fabric one or maybe better an Aïda stitched one.

Pour la future naissance chez Laurine, je viens d'ajouter quatre nouveaux projets à ma liste d'en cours : un album, un bavoir brodé et un cadeau en couture pour le bébé plus un cadeau pour le grand frère !

L'album sera confectionné sur le même modèle et contiendra des idées le rattachant au premier réalisé en 2023, telles : le cerf volant, la page musicale avec un xylophone, les mini enveloppes et le découpage de la date de naissance auxquelles s'ajouteront de nouvelles décorations comme : un mobile éléphant, un bébé dans sa baignoire, une hirondelle et son nid, des petits bateaux à la place du train, des libellules et de pochettes inspirées de mon JJ.

Je travaille sur toutes les pages en même temps et pour la salle de bain, voici ma baignoire vintage avec le bébé dans la mousse de bain découpée dans du plastique de protection d'un colis, le robinet sera coupé dans un manche de parapluie en chocolat de Pâques !

Quatre petits éléphanteaux seront suspendus avec du coton perlé.

Le coin des nounours avec le bouton bleu utilisé sur la pochette et celui prêt à se glisser sous les draps de son petit lit (à moins que ce ne soit le lit de Boucle d'Or)

I 'd like to use an idea seen on a magazine to decorate a kid room for another page

 

Inspirée d'une photo d'une décoration de chambre d'enfant vue dans un magazine, je vais utiliser l'idée du nid d'hirondelle.

SMALLS SAL 01/25

 

Rachel is hosting the Smalls SAL, on the last Friday of the month everyone is encourage to post about small stitchings and I'd love to join this SAL regularly adding sometimes my small DIY.

Smalls SAL est organisé par Rachel et nous propose de montrer nos petites broderies. J'aimerai bien y participer régulièrement et ainsi avoir un nouveau rendez-vous sur le blog le dernier vendredi du mois en y ajoutant quelque fois mes petits bricolages.

Before updating my smalls SAL post, Mrs Mouse has something to show you. You already know that she and her husband rent a small room on my hall shelf. She has decorated her place for Christmas and was thankfull to Soline for her new paper Christmas tree and likes as much her new wool tree. But she was sad her dining table looks more like a terrace one than a shabby one, so she asks for a tableclothe. Easy to find a nice fabric a bit festive, cut a round shape and when went the time to stitch a hem she insisted that nobody would mind if I glued the round edge instead of stitching it! 

Will you believe me when I told you that I felt a few seconds guilty with my glue stick (seamstress guilt).

It's the perfect place to post a closer look to the tiniest Advent Calendar I've ever seen!

I bought it last September during our holidays in Alsace. There is an amazing Christmas shop in Riquewihr named  "Käthe Wohlfahrt". I don't buy a lot because most of the goods are often very expensive but I can't resist with miniatures (it's certainly genetic I have a problem with miniature things maybe I drunk a Pishalver potion when I was young without knowing it and it affected my behavior).

It's only  6 cm by  8.5 cm  and have really tiny doors you can open (but I won't).

Mme Souris qui loue avec son époux une étagère dans mon hall d'entrée est heureuse de vous présenter son petit chez soi ambiance de Noël et la nouvelle nappe qui habille désormais sa table.

C'est l'occasion également de vous montrer cet adorable mini calendrier de l'avent acquis chez Käthe Wohlfart lors de notre visite à Riquewihr à l'automne dernier.

JJJ 15 LE JEUDI DU JUNK JOURNAL

 

C'est le grand retour du Junk Journal ! En pause depuis août (incroyable... ) et les wipolympics ! Je reprends avec plaisir mon JJ spécial thème couture avec un bilan de santé et d'avancement.

Côté santé quelques soucis car la reliure non terminée - pas recouverte et pas de fermeture -  a craqué ! Il va donc falloir réfléchir à la renforcer et surtout arrêter d'ajouter des épaisseurs à l'intérieur !

The Junk Journal is back! On pause since August (unbelievable... ) and the wipolympics! I'm happy to reopen my sewing-themed JJ giving today a health and progress report.

On the health front, I'm a bit worried because the unfinished binding - not covered and no fastenered - has cracked! So I'm going to have to think about reinforcing it and, above all, stop adding layers inside!

Figurez-vous que cela pourrait (pourquoi du conditionnel...  pourra) me conduire à réaliser le tome II ! Bon, on ne s'emballe pas et raisonnablement on commence la nouvelle année avec des finitions (vous avez vu comme je suis sage). 

Par exemple coudre, enfin, les boutons musique sur la bande dentelle.

Elle accueille une carte chanson qui est contente de quitter son tiroir...  de Michel Fugain,  "Je n'aurai pas le temps"  -sans commentaires-

et une petite "note" : le point de mirliton !

Just think, this could (why use the conditional... will) lead me to complete Volume II! Well, let's not get carried away and reasonably start the new year with some finished pages (you've seen how wise I am). 

For example, finally sewing the music buttons onto the lace and add this little note : the reed flute -?- stitch

I slid under it a song card that's happy to leave its drawer... by Michel Fugain, “I won't have enough time” -no comment-.

Le recto de cette page accueille dans sa partie supérieure un hamac le temps de faire une pause mais avait besoin d'un décor pour cacher les bandes plastiques de fixation du bandeau dentelle.

J'ai choisi une pochette plis en papier fin texturé aux couleurs coordonnées soit un joli vert pâle avec une chaînette en coton perlé

On the top of the front page I have glued a funny hammock for a break, but needed some decoration to hide the plastic strips used to fasten the lace belly belt. A simple three folded page with a nice pale green.

Last year, my priority was Jo's JJ which had to be ready before September and today I can make again for me some ideas seen on different JJ blogs like the spider...

L'an passé j'avais donné priorité au journal de Jo (devant être prêt avant septembre) et je peux refaire, pour moi cette fois, quelques idées vu sur les blogs de JJ comme l'araignée...

et le bouton histoire. 

Les boutons utilisés pour la couverture sont fait d'une espèce de liège compressé mais trop épais d'où une petite intervention esthétique au cutter pour les affiner.

The buttons used for the cover are made of a kind of compressed cork, but they're too thick, so I had to do a little cosmetic work with a cutter to make them thinner.

I had made the two drawed bands last summer so I was ready to glue it.

I wanted to show it in the JJ and thought

I could probably make a "buttons jar" with some real buttons in the bottom and a special "pocket" attached to the lid.

Fingers crossed we'll see in next post if the idea can become reality!

Pour présenter mon livre bouton, j'ai envie de fabriquer un bocal à boutons dans lequel je vais essayer et sûrement réussir à glisser quelques vrais boutons au fond et un système de mini pochette attachée au couvercle...  à suivre.

The double page with the queens playing cards will become for me a double page with jacks.

Hector, Lancelot, Lahire and Ogier will be stitched with DMC Diamand Grande pink gold on the four corners where I'll be able to slide under them some papers. Some old "dymo" stitching theme words for a vintage look!

As we use the same word "valet" for a bedroom accessory to hang your clothes it might give me something to think about soon.

Mes quatre valets sont cousus aux quatre coins de ma double page et des mots couture à la pince Dymo donneront un petit aspect vintage.

Ma petite couturière a trouvé enfin sa place.

My little seamstress has finally found her place.

Collage de deux pochettes en utilisant les petits papiers reçus à Noël comme un filet permettant de garder visible la texture du papier.

Some textured papers I got under the Christmas tree, this one looks more like a net and is great to make two pockets and keep the parchment paper remaining visible.

I'm starting a four pockets page with other flowered papers.

Très heureuse de retrouver tant de plaisir à jouer avec les papiers et reprendre pliages et collages qui pour certains vont se dupliquer dans un second récent projet d'album. Mais cela est une autre histoire...
