WIPOCALYPSE 07/22

Time to share with Melissa and the Wipocalypse family the projects we want to complete before the end of the world.

On FB or

https://measi.net/

A lot of time spent on paper crafting and knitting so not a lot of progress on cross stitch.

Point de croix / cross stitch  perforated paper

Brooke's book - Mrs Christmas

The belt buckle is done with golden beads as well as the top of the shoes.

I have added the green thread on the top and make some progress on the face and the hands.

For my new project "One year of stitches"  July isn't totally finished, some blackberries will be added but you can see my update on BOO cover :  226.

You may see a painbrush, it's for some watercolour, I'm putting some colour on drawings for the next 5th edition of my Tour de France and I spend a lot of time with sailors because of the sea theme.

July topic from Mélissa : What five patterns do you really want to purchase (or start) right now?

- Spirit of Holiday baking from Brooke's book (I already got the chart)

- Quaker Breizh de Jardin Privé

- Crochet in Quilt from Cuore e Batticuore

- Steampunk dragonfly by Panna

UNE ANNEE DE BRODERIE / ONE YEAR OF STITCHING

Have you ever noticed on the web these beautiful embroidery pictures? They are made in embroidery hoops and represent the family news of a year in twelve months of mini designs.

Very tempting, but since I couldn't start in January, I'm starting my year in May on my birthday.

You can find some ideas here :

Me voici donc à la fin de mon troisième mois, je choisis mes motifs en fonction des événements, par exemple : des visites, des fêtes, quelques clins d'oeil à mes activités : jardin, cuisine, en cours en travaux manuels

Soon the end of my third month, I choose my patterns among events, visits, what's new in the garden, cooking and of course my WIP.

May : lily of the valley and champagne for a birthday month, a bike for the Vélotour, our visits to Guédelon and St Fargeau, my knitting WIP Boo, movie and book and a lot of harvests, strawberries, rhubarb, peas.

In June, I went to theater, travelled to Brittany, had fun with my owl kite. Month of Parliementary elections, the Day of Music, very hot weather  and Marathon Day. We celebrated ER + the six years of Capucine, I made a lot of cutting for cards, read, knitted more squares.

July will be about : Family birthdays on Bastille day,  papyrus on the terrace, tomatoes in the vegetable garden, stitching honeycomb and bees, painting. I'll add the amazing rainbow we saw on last Wednesday and new unknown events to come!

First impressions :

I didn't succeed to stitch with the fabric on the hoop yet, not used to, the fabric I use is maybe a little thick I think.
I'm using 2 threads but the designs are so tiny. Not easy to use even crewel stitch so back stitch, couching stitch, some chain, daisy, web, encroaching satin stitches and French nots.

They advised to use a 6 inches (15.24 cm) hoop, but I took the biggest size in my stash : 32 cm (12 inches), patterns are already very small I don't know how they manage to sew so many in a so small space.

I'll fill the empty spaces with some flowers, stars (doodles) maybe at the end of the quarter.

GIFTED GORGEOUSNESS 07/22

It's always nice to make gifts, nice too to receive some
and use them in our stitching projects.

It's great and fun to show all this and the perfect place is
on Jo's blog Serendipitous Stitching on the 15th of each month
for the Gifted Gorgeousness post.

Busy days since last month, so maybe you'd like to take a cup of tea
or coffee before you start reading this post...

Capucine's birthday was on June 30th
and she'd like a coffee machine,
we bought this one which is really
pouring water in the cup.

I made some accessories like small
cream pods, coffee bags, sugar cubes,

and...
no it's not a strange animal with two eyes...

it's a felt "coffee with marshmallows"

I started those three July birthdays cards in June
and here are the finished pop up pour Timothé and his mother

I have added some felt flowers and plants, small feathers, and glitters

The small kitchen for Régis has been sent too

I have made a tea towel and two potholders
I like the way the cake in the oven look like

then I have found a tuto to make a small lamp

Looking real my friend Roselyne searched the button to light it up!

I'm always looking for some new craftings for Violette (s)  doll
why not a pizza oven
I made a model in paper

How great to find the wood looking cardboard tray
kept in my paper box (from my best friend Mr Justin Case)

Fresh breads for Violette, it will smell good in her kitchen!

another idea leads me to think she could collect honey from a hive and I remember having seen a beekeeper Barbie months ago
I'm stitching kind of cells on brood frames on a piece of look like Aïda    with 3 threads of DMC  832/833/834

(it's a big piece from my Mum stash, if you have some good ideas
to use ugly cloth, I'm interested)

After a few tries, I like the result

I'm adding clear beads to look like honey on one side

I'll have to make a box to hang them folded in two
and sew a beekeeper hat for Violette to be safe

GG knitting is the wool cover for DD3, half July score is :   216
and I have started sewing nine "lines" together

Can I call it a "shadowie" the sun in your back version of a selfie?

YOU CHOOSE 07/22

First Saturday of July means that I have to post about a topic chosen by our stitching friends. This SAL is run by Jo from Serendipitous Stitching, it's about what you want to see on the blog.

The result of the votes for this month was : "Pets".

First, some cats, let me introduce you to Darjeeling most often called DarJ, our neighbour's cat choosing to have a nap on my stitching. We renamed all the cats visiting us with tea names. She is older now, less visit and no more climbing on the table. She prefers to stay on our wood pile to keep an eye on the surroundings.

Most of my stitched cats are black! Those from the little house...

These are probably pets by day and superheroes by night

I found two white cats : this one dreaming of Christmas
(waiting for a future patchwork cover)
and a felt one I made last winter for my friends R & R

Two Chritmas cats from Advent Calendar Brookes Book
and Christmas market by Brin par Brin

and  now  some dogs

Some ornies inspired by Debbie's dog Sully
and two pets in my Advent Calendar  (day 3 and day 21)
and two goldfishes on day 11

Some funny cats in watercolor cards

We call them NAC (nouveaux animaux de compagnie), new pets?

Miguel  the Cameleon from Filanthrope Broderies could be part of this post and as he got more than 150 outfits I'm sure he would become a great companion.
