I have started Wip Olympics (which are a baby of Melissa who handles the Wipocalypse SAL in her blog Measi's musings) in 08/2016 with the OG of Rio.

I chose some of my DIY WIPs and link them with sports events.

My first winter games in 2018  PeyongChang

Then Tokyo 2020   in 2021 summer due to covid

Voici Nelson et Gérard, nos journalistes sont dans une forme olympique, prêts à vous commenter les épreuves sportives qui vont se dérouler ces prochains jours.

Here are Nelson and Gérard, our journalists are in top olympic form, ready to comment on the sporting events that will take place over the next few days.

They will take place in Italy, in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo.

Let starts with the new sport :  Skimountaineering

Un nouveau sport pour cette olympiade : le Ski Alpinisme

Occasion rêvée pour m'essayer à un nouveau point : la broderie suisse

which means a new stitch, perfect timing to try the Swiss embroidery

Ski acrobatique / Freestyle skiing

Ces skis croisés rappellent le point de croix avec un nouvel ouvrage de chez Filanthrope Broderie : Miguel le caméléon dans sa version girafe.

Those crossed skis mean cross stitching

I have chosen a new start : Miguel - the giraffe.

Hockey sur glace

Spirit of Christmas Carols is a pattern from "Brooke's books"

it will be my ice hockey event

Next color for the skirt is a red 347

the net told me that 347 was the aera code for Brooklyn

Brooklyn hockey team was "Brooklyn aviators" in the 2010s

Il me reste à broder un rouge 347 sur la jupe de "Spirit of Christmas Carols" de Brooke's Books, ce sera mon épreuve de hockey sur glace

Curling  is using  granite stone ...

granite was used to build the pyramids (with limestone)

so every work for my Ancient Egypt JJ themed will suit

Les boules de curling sont fabriquées dans du granite

Le granite a été utilisé pour construire les pyramides (avec le calcaire)

toute fabrication réalisée pour mon JJ sera validée pour cette épreuve

Bobsleigh

The "dame à la licorne" goes to   Bobsleigh

= Robert...    the Robertet family owned the tapestry!

Les épreuves de bobsleigh seront attribuées à la Dame à la licorne.

La famille Robertet possédait ses tapisseries et Bob est le diminutif de Robert !

Le patinage artistique féminin   accueille   Femme de Paris II des Jardins de Nana

Woman's figure skating   goes to   "woman of Paris II"   from les Jardins de Nana

Biathlon is my favorite sport and will be linked to wool DIY

What is called edgeshot in English is called "cordon" like string in French

Espérons que nous éviterons les "cordons" pendant les épreuves de biathlon mais cela me permet de lier l'épreuve avec tous travaux avec de la laine.

Snowboard will show cardboard DIY

Pas de traduction possible à part de dire que j'espère faire un carton avec l'épreuve de snowboard liée au cartonnage !
