JJJ 42 LE JEUDI DU JUNK JOURNAL

Back from our holidays trip and to normal days at home, October is already here. In a few days the start of my Christmas Countdown. So it's time to have a kind of check-up on all the Junk Journal work in progress.

JJ Ancient Egypte was on the desk rather often this summer and I'm glad with its evolution.

I have let you "puzzled" in my last post with the guardian of my future library...

Here is Toth, ready to welcome you...   I still have to think about a closure on the left side.

Already some magazines on the shelves

Next idea will be a felucca sailing on the Nile.

The JJs Sewing/Wool 1 and 2 are already close to full and only a few small additions would take place in them.

Meaning a number 3 is in my mind to welcome pages about laces, dedicated stamps I'm going to pull out of my stamps books, silk production and silk threads, coton flowers, Aubusson tapestry, Moulins museum of theatrical costume and design we visited years ago...

I already took out one more cover to prepare with fabric and chose a "bambou" themed fabric I bought last year in a nearby fair.

Holes are done to fix the signatures, the cover is glued and I want to use a lovely metallic clasp I have to close it. Meaning I have to add a piece of something to take account of the thickness of the journal. I'm trying to use a piece of a diary plastic cover looking like leather.

First I use the small screws supplied with it but I don't think they were really made for it. It doesn't look nice so I change for tiny brads hoping they will be ok. Light pink which I'll try to cover with varnish.

I have kept some pages from an environmental report and I'm replacing the text by some flowered tracing paper.

From a cooking book,
I'm covering photo and titles with lace and gold paper to keep the black roses.

I knew I had old albums of Sarah Key in my book piles somewhere and I found them! I was quite confident to find some illustrations about sewing or embroidery and I was right!

These two lovely little girls will join my JJ soon.

The JJ Christmas themed will come back with the Xmas countdown.

And if you want to see a lovely Cooking JJ - Saacibo, here is the link of a flip through I have recently discovered.

What about making one with family recipes to pass to the kids...   only remember that you have three daughters Jocondine!
