May I present you the "J" post for The Alphabet Club

more details here

Each month, I am posting my take on the events proposed by the creators of The Alphabet Club (Chiara & Jo).

They offered us a quite total liberty to how develop our posts. My article will show this letter through the worlds of stitching, wording, drawing, design, gardening, cooking, music and travelling.
The evocation of a word beginning with this letter is linked to DIY activities.

J...  comme jupes, jupons,        j'ai coupé, cousu, porté beaucoup de jupes de toutes formes...
J...  for skirts,            I cut, sewed, wore a lot of skirts of many shapes

droite,  crayon,  portefeuille,  mini, courte,  longue,  patineuse,  plissée  -soleil-,  à panneaux,
à godets, à basque, à volants,  crinoline, de déguisement, de cosplay.

pencil, pleated, tiered, gored, tailored, wrapped-around, for kids carnival or cosplay

années 80  avec pochette, porte-monnaie assortis
in the 80s,  with clutch bag and purse

pour finir un indémodable...  influence romaine
To finish,  one which never goes out of style, a Roman influence

this technic is still stressful, cut threads
in Hardanger or Richelieu embroidery too,
I never try a full rank.
I keep that challenge for later.

J  comme

dans ma cuisine, in my kitchen

J comme jambon  (ham)

A lot of recipes with ham, a favorite one..  endives wrapped in ham covered with béchamel sauce and cheese.
But this time, I'll talk about "croque-monsieur"

I found those pics on the web, how chic and elegant croque-monsieur embroidery

as you know the "croque-madame" "wears" an egg on the top

on my vinyl player

dans le jardin, in the garden

jonquilles et jacinthes

in travel memories

JERSEY....     June 1978

To illustrate Jersey Island, I choosed some drawings of our great great grandfather
Maurice Bonvoisin   dit  "Mars"

extrait de l'album "Plages de Bretagne et Jersey"

See you in June for K
A vous revoir en juin prochain

but I'll be back in a jiffy for a Provençal holidays post...

    Happy Mother's Day!

  4. Lovely pics and great choices for "J". hugs, Kaye

  6. Another wonderful post. My favourite photo is the patterned croque monsieur! What a fun way to make a snack.
