finally I get here in the morning! :) so, first of all I see a 37 for the house number, and that’s Indre-et-Loire department. the flag matches the one on the left and there’s also I&L written on the train wagon. now all I’d left to do is to find a town in the Touraine (the “garden of France”) that is known for its silks rather than wines and castles. ;) but no, our destination is Tours, the capital, because it once had Saint Martin as bishop and I’m familiar with the Saint Martin Embroideries book by M. B. Freeman which shows the “15th century series illustrating the life and legend of St. Martin of Tours”. see you soon, ciao! chiara
Immediately I can see Dept 37 Indre et Loire which is also the I&L on the train carriage. So now I must look for a town within that province. Back soon!
The province is Touraine (I am a "tourangelle" native of Touraine). You're close to our city, ask for a cup of coffee tomorrow in the restaurant car. Hugs xxx
Oooh I am so so very excited to be back on the train, this is so much fun!! Ok I have looked at your beautiful drawing.... Looking at the the train it has I&L and the house has 37, and the flag.....I believe this to be dept...37 - Indreet Loire . As for a town that something exciting is happening in...I think it's to go to the town of Tours where there is a museum of fine arts....with many many wonderful things to look at including costumes. Within the grounds there are wonderful gardens that look like patchworks! And are very formal too but pretty. There is another musem celebrating all artisans .... Tours is a large place and many tourists visit it, it is known as part of the garden France the other dept that make this up are....28,45,41,18 and 16. Oooh fingers crossed....if this is not right I will have to have a re think!!!
It's not Tours; Could have been my choice because it's a big city with a lot of Museums (a famous wax historical museum, wine and my favorite is the compagnonnage museum. Must put a link to it on Sunday)
In dept 37 there are 3 towns known for their gardens....tours, chinon... A small town dominated by a castle, the next place is Loches, a small town built around a fine medieval fortress and a renaissance castle.... I thinking it's one of these!! I think Loches is the most picturest town....oh now I am torn! Eeeeeek!! My daughter plays a game called Animal crossing and oh my your little pictures remind me so much of that! The cross on the floor...to dig up fossils, the balloon with gift flying over, only to be shot down with bow and arrow...the owl, monkey....he sits on the train station in animal crossing!! Have you styled your characters from this?? It's brilliant!!! I love it!!!!
There is so many places famous in Touraine for their castles, gardens and Loches is a very nice city. But it is not our destination. Tomorrow on AC train a big clue. I used to play on Wii when I stop working for a while when DD3 was a baby, so when she was sleeping and the 2 olders were in school, mummy took her butterfly-net.... but you must keep it secret....
Hello again! Are we going to the city of Tours this time.... Department 37 is Indre-et-Loire and I think from my research that Tours appears to be the capital of that Department. Tours is also called the "Garden of France" Hugs xx
You can have nice visits in Tours but must get back to your train cause it's not our final destination. Meet you tomorrow in the restaurant car. hugs xxx
Think I have visited practically all the chateaux in the Indre et Loire department,! all amazing and worth a visit, but can´t find much needlework to draw my attention. Will make a guess at the town of Richelieu as I love this embroidery while I await more clues tomorrow.
finally I get here in the morning! :)

Welcome in I&L, but I didn't choose Tours. It's a big city (I was born in Touraine and have lived there till 10 years old). A big clue tomorrow.
