ETAPE / STAGE 1/3

Well done to Sheryl, Debbie and Jo who reached...

62 was the number of the department (given on stage 1/1 with the 62nd north parallel). President Emmanuel Macron has a family house in Le Touquet. Algy's Bar is a bar in the rue Saint Jean.

The city is on the "Opale Coast" -   située sur la Côte d'Opale

You'll often see on this game those lovely dresses about the "Traditionnal costumes of France" a pattern created by Catherine Debusne.

And now it's time to prepare your suitcase for this cruise and fill your cabin trunk with some nice outfits.

Interesting to see how sailor costumes were popular on vintage dolls.

If you want to get lucky, you'll have to touch the pompom of the sailor beret.

Jean-Paul Gaultier, the fashion designer and his "marinière"

Plus originales, quelques créations de haute couture.
A few haute couture creations.

More easy to wear  ISAmade creations

Buttons can be "sea theme" too, with wood tiny boats and of course mother of pearl button.

You'll recognize the wood buttons I bought on Figeac market and that swim now in the felt pond of my easter project for Soline.

Vous aurez besoin d'un couvre-chef éventuellement !
Need a hat or a bag?

"The sea holds me in its nets"

These two designers are working on making fabric from seaweed

Violaine Buet

Rose Ekwé

Here is the "caban" elementary piece of your sea wardrobe

This pattern was given with "Autumn" bought in a DIY fair,  it has been finished long time ago as the other is still in my basket. Aïda monochrome easy win against green lin  one on one.

Those kites are flying in the sky of Dieppe but there is another famous kite festival on the Channel coast it's Berck sur Mer.

Remember Lili? She illustrated a step in TdF4,
I discovered that there was an album "Lili and the top models"
(the 1st  of the new stories in 1996)
she looks like she is fan of Jean-Paul Gaultier too
I wish it had been sold when I was young

Some funny homemade penguins for the kids

Amigurumi Pingu

Noot  Noot!

See you on next Tuesday for our second stage...

Rendez-vous mardi prochain pour notre deuxième étage...

  2. The nautical clothes and style is all along this coast, we have visited here many times, sailed from Newhaven to Dieppe and stayed at Berck sur Mer. My Dad was in the Navy and loved all the French nautical tourist gifts, he had quite a few in his dining room which he called the cabin.

  3. I found the start of the journey! I love all your nautical themed photos. I'm not a fan of the style, too much white for me to wear myself. But I do love those willowy stripy ladies, did you stitch them yourself?
