STAGE / ETAPE 2/3

An early post today because we have a family reunion to celebrate our "Martians" - March birthdays of DD2 and SiL3.

My whole crew reached  Le Havre,  well done!

Le Havre - 76  Seine Maritime    (76   drawn in the clouds)

The coat of arms  with the salamander of King François 1er.

Notre marin aventurier Corto Maltese dessiné par Hugo Pratt,  à droite sur le stand de la France un cerf-volant sur lequel vous pouvez reconnaître son couvre-chef.

Corto Maltese the adventurous sailor was created in 1967 by Hugo Pratt - On the right, a kite seen on the French team stall during Dieppe Kite Festival.

A great statue in Angoulême
(known of the international comics
festival).

Statue de bronze

installée sur la passerelle du quai
de la Charente.

Le Havre is a famous harbour for ocean liners

Les arts de la table étaient à l'honneur à bord des paquebots
renommés lors des traversées atlantiques

Atlantic crossings, tableware, sea themed food...

A lovely biscornu, perfect shape for waves.

Do you have some special dishes for fish? Here is mine, oval earthenware plates
Collection le Mareyeur - Faiencerie de Gien

Remember the felt sea food I made for the dolls
but the fish below was delicious!

Quelques autres idées de présentation pour vos buffets...

Some ideas for a "sailor" lunch.

It seams that sea is a favorite theme for weddings, shell ornaments, ring cushion or bridal bouquet.

Now, you"ll need some flower decorations
Quelques compositions florales !

If you want to relax sitting on the pier, why not seat on those deckchairs (we call transats) made with recycled boat sails.

Recyclage de voiles en transats.

Un coussin pour plus de confort ? Et un joli marque page.
A cushion to be comfortable? And a lovely book mark.

If you want some nice ice-cream ornaments, do visit "Handmade Charlotte" blog to see how she makes them with shells and wool.

µ

Spending some times on the beach of Dieppe, watching the Channel I saw those two English ships.

they were waiting for the rising tide, not everyday that you can see two magic sailboats coming into the harbour, we walked to the piers to have a closer view.

Stravos S Niarchos  - London  /  Tenacious  -  Southampton

Can't post about ocean liner without evocating a famous couple...

If you don't see it, there is a cat in this pet house.

I bought long time ago this set for ice cube
but you need really big glasses

For the end of this post I will share my favorite scene of Marx Brothers
(A night at the opera)    Crowded cabin scene

Je ne me lasse pas de revoir cette fabuleuse scène des Marx Brothers

On se revoit mardi prochain pour d'autres aventures

See you next Tuesday for more adventures

  1. Great ideas for a seaside themed lunch ... I might do that in the summer. We've sailed to and stayed in Dieppe, and Honfleur just across the river from Le Harve. We have crossed both the Pont du Normandie and Pont du Tancarnville, both stunning bridges. I wonder where we're going next 🤔

Wonderful photos again, especially those shell ice creams. What a clever idea.
