LA VILLE DES STUARTS

Une jolie ballade à Aubigny sur Nère pour un délicieux déjeuner au P'tit Bouillon et un tour dans les rues de la ville des Stuarts.

On Wednesday we went to Aubigny sur Nère for a lovely lunch at "au P'tit Bouillon" and a walk in the streets of the "town of the Stuarts".

De toute évidence le rez de chaussée est plutôt contemporain

le mur à droite sur la rivière a été demonté en 1945 et est parti à l'étranger ?

et vu les inscriptions dans le toit d'ardoises "horloger"

je me demande ce qui date vraiment du XVIème siècle !

Obviously the ground floor is rather contemporary

Charles VII remit en 1423 la ville d'Aubigny à Jean Stuart de Darnley, prestigieux chef de l'armée écossaise scellant une longue alliance durant la guerre de Cent Ans.

The Auld Alliance Monument : the sword is planted in Scottish and French rocks. 

Charles VII  King of France rewarded John Stewart of Darnley with the Lordship of Aubigny for fighting for him with a large contingent of Scottish soldiers.

Monument de l'Auld Alliance, cette épée est plantée dans des roches de France et d'Ecosse pour honorer les soldats écossais tombés pour le Royaume de France.

At Danie Styl, the haberdashery on Place Arnoux I discovered a new wool from Katia   "Aqua"  recycled cotton and polyester.

Until today, 200 tons of waste recovered from the bottom of the

the bottom of the oceans have been transformed into Upcycled Marine Plastic.

I'm not supposed to buy more fabric and wool (something like be banned from casinos) but this was obviously a sign linked to the theme of TdF5 "sea/ocean"  and a good action.

Here is a nice stitching made by the owner on sea theme hanged just near the door and the second sign!

The third sign was the name of this hotel : "the Cutty Sark" I'll post about in a few weeks.
