It's always nice to make gifts
nice too to receive some 
and use them in our stitching projects.

As a birthday gift I have received chart and perforated paper to stitch Mrs Claus from Brooke Books.

Voici mon projet "Mrs Claus"  de chez Brooke Books sur papier perforé.

J'avance par couleurs, sur le personnage principal, donc les rouges 321/815, le blanc et le gris 862 sont complétés ainsi que le 676.

My main project is the felt vegetable garden for Soline's doll.

Voici quelques nouveaux accessoires pour ma jardinière : un tablier, deux pelles et un panier crocheté en coton pour une cueillette abondante. Sans oublier le cordeau du jardinier pour un alignement parfait des semences.

New tools and accessories for my gardener : an apron, two garden shovels and a basket crocheted in cotton for an abundant harvest.

I have cut the shovels shapes in a plastic pink bottle and glued some silver metal cover from an office toner bag and added a glittering varnish (I thought Violette would appreciate to be elegant in her garden).

I was so happy to find THE perfect fabric for the apron with the right scale of garden themed patterns.

Violette d'Orléans (which sounds so aristocratic) has visited me during the fall holidays so I was able to check the size for the apron and make one more for Violette of Fagnières.

Dans un flacon de plastique, j'ai découpé les pelles et les ai recouvertes d'une feuille argentée récupérée sur une pochette de toner, ajout de manches et un peu de vernis à paillettes pour faire chic.

J'ai réalisé une petite vidéo avec mon téléphone, une première sur le blog...

Je voudrais ajouter quelques sachets de graines et magazines dédiés remplis de bons conseils et peut-être un arrosoir ou simplement un tuyau.

Not forgetting the gardener's line for perfect seed alignment.

Some seed packets and magazines full of good advice could be fun to add and maybe a watering can or simply a hose.

I think I will stitch a bag from my stash with a label "Soline's garden" to keep all that can't stay in the box.

Pour ranger les accessoires et grandes plantes, je pense broder cette pochette avec des fleurs.

i have already made some Christmas ornaments, I can't post about them yet but it will be a "cats and dogs"  theme for DD2 and a good friend.

I have to find some geek patterns from Final Fantasy or Animal Crossing for DD3. She also loves kawaii patterns so I'm trying to make some chocolate mugs in felt. I have already made fabric cups for Capucine's dinner set toys.

Now the challenge will be to make smaller sizes. 

Parmi les nouveautés de cette année, il y aura certainement quelques décos kawaï pour notre benjamine d'où cet essai pour une tasse de chocolat en feutrine avec bien sûr deux mini chamallows. A refaire plus petit si c'est possible.

Last update on knitting : some more white squares (for a pixel cover) which brings the total to 63.

That's quite a challenge, let's search in my memories some crafts and stitchings which could do the job!

First, as I had my grandchildren at home three days last week during the holidays, this one which said something like : we are rocking grandparents but don't push it, we are not a nursery!

Timothé et sa soeur sont venus passés quelques jours pendant les vacances, voici donc la parfaite illustration de ces bons moments ensemble.

Then I chose to share this pattern from Frimousse, it's a rhyme about a children funny dance. As I remember, we had to dance, turn and squat, of course they were always someone falling.

My granddaughter is named "Capucine" (which means nasturtium flower is an old firstname coming back those last twenty years).

Restons avec nos petits-enfants, ma petite-fille s'appelle Capucine, c'est pourquoi parmi les grilles de comptines dessinées par Frimousse, celle-ci était toute indiquée pour fabriquer une jolie trousse. De mémoire, quand les danseurs devaient s'accroupir il y en a toujours un qui tombait en faisant rire ses compagnons.

It can be funny (and safe) to find the exit of the labyrinth...

Amusant de se promener dans le labyrinthe et surtout d'en retrouver la sortie.

Animals can be funny too,  cats, pinguins, rabbits

During my "tours de France", I try to post some funny guys with jokes... not always easy to translate.

Another funny cartoon, adventures of "Mimi Cracra" created by Agnès Rosenfield, DD1 was a big fan as a young girl so I stitched her on her "25" years birthday cushion.

Notre chère et facétieuse Mimi Cracra, grande amie de notre fille ainée.

WIPOCALYPSE 10/21

 

Time to share with Melissa and the Wipocalypse family the projects we want to complete before the end of the world.

I have some troubles to sign up on Measi's blog. I'll try later but here is my update.

My main project this past month is the vegetable garden I'm making for Soline. I have already made food and cakes for the girls to play cooking but now I'd like to make some small vegetables that Violette -the fabric doll- could collect in a small garden.

I have found in my boxes the right brown fabric to make the ground and made some "bags" I'll stick in a box. The best way is to show it :

Très inspirée par les réalisations de talentueuses créatrices, l'idée de fabriquer un potager m'a tenté pour que Soline s'amuse avec Violette à récolter fruits et légumes.

Le concept est de disposer des rouleaux de tissus entre lesquels on glisse les légumes.

J'ai fait des sacs rembourrés avec de vieux collants et placé un tissu marron pour simuler la terre et les rangs du potager.

I have now five rows to insert the vegetables stems.

Des poireaux, betteraves, choux, citrouille, salades et carottes.

Leeks, beets, cabbage, pumpkin, lettuce and carrots.

Puis plus sophistiqués des champignons, artichauts, des pieds de maïs, des rames de petits pois.

Then more sophisticated mushrooms, artichokes, corn stalks, reams of peas.

Not easy to respect a small scale but I'm happy with all the results, specially for artichokes and corn.

Le plus compliqué est de réaliser les légumes à une échelle convenant à la taille de la poupée.

Quelques outils, un arrosoir ou un tuyau, un joli tablier, des ficelles, un panier, des sachets de graines miniatures restent à fabriquer.

J'ai également pensé à ajouter un épouvantail, un bouchon de bouteille de lait recouvert de tissu, un peu de raphia pour les cheveux, mains et pieds, une coccinelle à la boutonnière.

A few tools, a watering can or hose, an apron, strings, a basket and tiny seed packets are still on my to do list.

I also thought of adding a scarecrow, a milk bottle cap covered with fabric, some raffia for the hair, hands and feet, and soon a ladybird in the buttonhole.

One more thing, flowers look nice in a garden, I will put some on one side of the box.

Il m'a semblé qu'il serait sympa de cueillir quelques fleurs d'où cet ajout sur un côté de la boîte. Une bande de carton munie de petits tubes pouvant recevoir les tiges des fleurs.
