SMALL SAL 01/26

 

Rachel used to host the Smalls SAL, on the last Friday of the month everyone is encourage to post about small stitchings and I'd love to join this SAL regularly adding sometimes my small DIY.

Smalls SAL était organisé par Rachel et nous propose de montrer nos petites broderies. J'aimerai bien y participer régulièrement et ainsi avoir un nouveau rendez-vous sur le blog le dernier vendredi du mois en y ajoutant quelque fois mes petits bricolages.

I'm back on my "honey pot birthday card" for which I need tiny bees...

So be sure that it's the smallest thing I have done!

Quelques abeilles miniatures vont venir butiner mes cartes d'anniversaire "pot de miel" et sont donc parfaites pour illustrer ce "small SAL".

Côté point de croix, j'ai repris ma broderie sur carton et fini un des instruments de musique : une petite lyre.

I have made skis and skis poles for my couple of mice (who will be my next Olympic Games supporters) but I thought vintage snowshoes would be funny!

Il me fallait également installer confortablement mes deux journalistes dans un bureau de presse bien équipé. Bientôt éclairé grâce à un ancien tube de mayonnaise.

The two sport journalists who will comment the Winter Olympic Games soon needed a well-equipped press office soon to be lit with the help of an old mayonnaise tube.

+++ Sewing / Couture

A new "puncho" top nearly finished. Assembling different fabrics, green and yellow to match with an old apron. I loved this egyptian design fabric.

A WIP jacket, two tops projects and as I found the fabric for a summer dress I'm back on trying to combine a crocheted top/braces/collar on a fabric dress.

Mon haut égyptien est presque terminé, une veste patchwork en cours, deux autres projets et le retour des essais cols crochetés sur robes d'été.

A new plant "orange agastache" (bought on our way back from Beaugency), the ground was so dry and mostly clay and stones!

Une petite nouvelle accueillie dans le jardin, pour compléter le massif devant la maison : une agastache orange.

Spaghettis de courgettes et tomates farcies.

+++ Crafts / Bricolages

Fuseaux de lavande et mini poupées ainsi que la finition de ma gnome écossaise joueuse de cornemuse.

Back on my squares for granny slippers.

My first attempt for some slippers was too large. I'll have to make smaller squares with tigher stitches.

I'm also trying to find a nice flower pattern for some variated colors wool, maybe this 8 petals one easy for me to do.

Still drawing and coloring the characters of my next Tour de France 7th.

DD3 is in holidays and I borrowed her sewing machine so I have to hurry sewing my patchwork pieces for different tops.

All those boxes of fabric have to be sorted and I'm assembling the fabrics looking for nice colors to go with a comic strip and an egyptian patterns.

Je profite des vacances d'EA pour lui emprunter mon ancienne machine à coudre et avancer sur l'assemblage de pièces de tissus assorties récupérées dans mes stocks pour utiliser ce tissu bande dessiné ainsi que ce motif égyptien de hiéroglyphes.

For another project of jacket, I have tried to cut some pieces of pale green jean, a light brown fabric, one eggshell and a world map pattern close to jean texture.

Pour un autre projet de veste, j'assemble autour d'une pièce au motif de mappemonde achetée dans un salon DIY des chutes de jean vert pâle et des morceaux marron clair et coquille d'oeuf qui j'espère donneront un joli ensemble.

For our June/July birthdays barbecue, I made verrines again : aspic Madeira jelly with cherry tomatoes, smoked trut and quell eggs and another one with rose jelly, duck, yoghurt with cheese.

Deux verrines au menu du déjeuner anniversaires de juillet : gélée de madère avec des tomates cerises, de la truite fumée et des oeufs de caille ainsi qu'une à base de gelée de roses, canard fumé sur un coulis de fromage frais et yaourt.

More DIY / plus de petit bricolage fait maison

Retour de mon gnome joueur de cornemuse, le béret est cousu avec son ruban vert, les cheveux tressés et les nattes raccourcies. Les chutes serviront à remplir la nuque et arranger le dessous des nattes.

My bagpipe-playing gnome is back, with his beret sewn on with green ribbon, his hair braided and his plaits shortened. The scraps will be used to fill in the nape of his neck and tidy up the underside of the plaits.

Question of the Month :  What are the fully finished pieces (framed or other finish style) that you are most satisfied that you have done?

a big one and a tiny one too...

More recently my hexagone pullover was quite a challenge to crochet without a pattern so I'm very proud!
