MJJ 41 LE MERCREDI (JEUDI) DU JUNK JOURNAL

My main project is my Ancient Egypt Junk Journal, ideas are coming easily so I'm happy working on it.

My black profile has been glued on a thin paper kind of eggplant color to match the title of the article about Hatshepsout.

I took out of my boxes some shining decorations I hope I'll be able to arrange as a necklace, rings and earrings.

Since my last bunch of wax seals, I have mad more with my gluegun.

I wanted to show my sarcophagus behind a "closed door"

so I used the flap of an envelope sticking out to create a "pocket".

The door will be closed by a ribbon rolled up around two charms

and fixed behind a seal.

I used the cover of the booklet for the back and hide the text behind a parchemin paper.

Next idea will be about a library to keep tiny books and magazines.

I looked for a god to represent knowledge and found Thot.

He will welcome us in front of the library's doors.

I'll have to make some shelves.

I want to use it to keep the name of books I could eventually buy linked to Egypt history.

  

Remember I put some ad pages in the JJ, as this camel for a lighter

I thought "he" had kind of a mischievous look so I cut a cigarette in a magazine, glued it on a rolled up kitchen paper (for a 3d effet) and slipped it between his lips.

J'avance bien dans mon Junk Journal Egypte ancienne, mes idées sont venues couvrir de nombreuses pages ces dernières semaines.

Le profil est maintenant collé sur une base de papier aubergine et attend que je confectionne des bijoux pour lesquels j'ai sorti de mes boîtes des petits brillants en plastique.

J'ai terminé la fabrication de la pochette qui devait recevoir mon sarcophage. J'ai opté pour une fermeture avec un ruban entourant des breloques masques funéraires, scellé par un sceau "oeil oudjat".

Prochain projet : un rayonnage où ranger des mini magazines façon bibliothèque, avec Thot en dieu des sciences et des connaissances comme gardien.

Enfin, je trouvais que mon chameau publicité pour un briquet avait l'oeil un peu malicieux, je lui ai donc ajouté une cigarette (découpée dans une pub et collée sur un petit rouleau de sopalin pour l'effet 3d) entre les babines.

I have finished my beaded edge and I'm happy with it!

My beads will be useful for another project,

I liked this black cardboard profile and copy it, now I want to make a necklace, earrings, rings and bracelet. The arm and hand is cut and glued in front of the bust and will give kind of a 3D effect I hope.

I have not "known" the telegrams as the blue papers with glued stripes and the telegraphic style of writing.

And in the story of our dear Howard Carter there is the famous one he sent to lord Carnarvon after the discovery of the Tutankhamun tomb.

But I have used aerograms, probably in the 80e's writing to penpals around the world and I have found some in my stamps books.

Why not use one in my JJ for fun...

An aerogram or air letter is a thin lightweight piece of foldable and gummed paper for writing a letter for transit via airmail, in which the letter and envelope are one and the same. 

L’aérogramme était un type d'entier postal commercialisé entre 1969 et 2002[]. Le poids ne doit pas dépasser 5 grammes. Il se compose d'une feuille de papier avec une bande de gomme sur deux ou trois côtés. Après écriture, la feuille peut être pliée et scellée à l'aide des bandes de gomme, envoyé par avion.

A last addition to the JJ is my trickster bat. I named her Tiyi, she'll hide a photo or a message to be determined.

Beaucoup de plaisir à travailler sur mon JJ Egypte ancienne, notamment avec la finition en perles de rocailles d'un bord de papier texturé.

Les perles vont également me servir à confectionner des bijoux pour mon profil.

Si vous croisez une chauve-souris pendue la tête en bas c'est Tiyi, elle se cache dans les pages du JJ et delivrera un message qui reste à déterminer.

Pour terminer, mon aérogramme destiné à Lord Carnarvon lui a été envoyé à Highclere Castle, Jocondine attend son arrivée pour entrer dans la nouvelle tombe découverte dans la vallée des reines !

MJJ39 JEUDI (MERCREDI) DU JUNK JOURNAL

I'm giving you my last updates about Junk Journaling on this Wednesday evening.

Many great JJ have lovely pages with special edges with collages (stamps, stickers, tickets...) beads, ribbons...

Of course I'd love to add some to my JJs

Sewing theme

One more edge pocket made with a black and white fabric.

Ancient Egypt theme

I wanted to do something with this green wool with yellow and red spots

a simple blanketstitch on the edge

The other idea was to sew beads. I have chosen seven different shades of green and added pale yellow and a shiny gold.

I was ready to tell you "see you in a few months when I'm done" but it goes quickly and I think next week I show you the finish!

I have kept some pages of magazine, adds for DIY shows, on one of them there was a bag I'm going to use for a pocket.

Choice of a ribbon for the handles, a small hook made with a metallic pink brad, a pink page to glue the image after reinforced it with light cardboard.

I had to find a way to show my origami camels, then I thought some days ago that sand dunes would be perfect.

Check the colours of my recent cardboard purchase and put together some yellow, orange, grey to cut the dunes after making a pattern

I might have to make some other camels in very thin paper as the origami folding result to a thickness that won't do maybe.

Another idea was to put a palmtree (I made two in felt for Capucine and Soline but mine will be in crepe paper).

Easy, fun and quickly made, wish I could sit under it!
