FULL FINISHED GALLERY 03/26

It's the 10th of this month and Rachel from "Ten Hour Stitcher"
used to welcome us and our Fully Finished achievements.

Her blog is on pause but I want to keep this event as a special day welcoming my fully finished projects.

It's a Fully Finished - but not framed - cross stitch :

The lady and the unicorn was a kit I received as a Christmas gift and started January 2022.

The fabric was an Aïda 8 kind of burgundy color and as I can't anymore stitch without my magnifying lamp since my cataract operation I can't cross stitch as easily as before so progressing took times.

Not easy to stitch on a dark color too but I loved the pattern and I don't remember making mistakes so it was nice to do.

I often used it in Wipocalypse, wipolympics events to get a boost.

I still dream to be able one day to visit the Cluny museum and see the five tapestries shown in Paris.

another Fully Finished knitting is the sleeveless sweater for DD3.

More about it in the Gifted Gorgeousness post in 5 days...

Now that my sewing machine has been repaired, I've started sewing again. After making my first berlingot candy shaped pouch, I asked DD1 if she wanted anything else made from the “perf” fabric, and she suggested pencil cases.

So I made a pencil case with a bottom for her and a flat one for her colleague.

I took the opportunity to make another pouch for Charlotte, who is also a nurse.

As the zipper pulls are very small, I added tassel pom-poms to make them easier to grip. They are made from No. 5 pearl cotton. I found skeins of white B5200 XXL at the DIY show held at the end of January.

All my pouches are lined with white sheet fabric as the fabric is quite thin.

FULL FINISHED GALLERY SAL 01/26

It's the 10th of this month and Rachel from "Ten Hour Stitcher" used to
welcome us and our Fully Finished achievements.

The blog is on pause yet but I'd like to post on the same date if I have a small or big finish to share with you

I have posted about my Wypocalypse plans last Sunday - linked to Melissa from Measi's musings SAL.

and as it's an Olympic Year I'd love to participate to the WypOlympics too.

Next winter games will take place in North Italy (February 6th to 22th)

I always send my team of journalists Nelson and Gérard and my couple of supporters Mr and Mrs Mouse.

They are renamed for the occasion : signor e signora Topolino

and they'll need some mountain equipment.

I thought about making skis in wood but it will be fragile and I chose some wood look cardboard (from food trays) and I'm glad that they look great.

We had some snow last Monday, perfect time to get out and try our new equipment and make some pictures.

I have shown them the mascots Tina and Milo, two lovely stoats and the Flo, six small snowdrops.

Mrs Mouse loved the cute hat they were wearing and she asks for one.

I made one for her with some white and green felt.

The last time you saw them, I was there...  with a lot of wool threads to hide and cut.

I have crocheted two rows on the edge.

Only one Fully Finished item today, one you've already seen on the blog as part of my Junk Journal. The idea started with a pop up between two signatures and the clock theme came with the feeling of constantly running out of time (the truth is probably more that I'm slow and distracted by a lot of things).

After cutting and collecting images, stickers, card film poster i thought I had to stitch something as it's a Junk Journal dedicated to sewing, stitching and all DIY I use to do, so I searched in my encyclopedia.

I love pocket watches, I like too three pieces suits and like the retro classic look. I have loved to stitch it and crocheted the chain.

Could be a joke but I think it's the right place for a big announcement.

I was counting days before living for our favorite kite festival in Dieppe, preparing bags of DIY, wool to crochet, fabric to sew...    and   DH felt from his ladder...  45 days walking with crutches and a lot of rest!

Fully finished plans for holidays, so I needed to keep spirit up and I only know one way, making things with my fingers and letting my grey cells playing with new ideas.

To be followed...

A suivre...

I have a BIG finish this month. I started my fifth gnome in 2024 January (can you believe it) with the idea of a bagpipe player. No pattern, but I had the right fabric for the kilt and beret. Red hair came from orange cords from chocolate boxes and I had already sewed the nose on the body with the same shape I made for the other gnomes.

And then I put it back in his bag, because it was not a spring project and the beret with its ribbon was giving me some troubles. Sometimes, you need a break to come back later with better fingers.

I took it back at the end of May and managed to sew the beret and the ribbon, then I made the braids and sewed some extra hair on the back of her neck.

I have cut the leather bagpipe from two old elbows pads

Some wood sticks dyed with coffee, I have made three tiny holes in the "chanter" and glued tiny black beads and bigger yellow wood beads.
Cords and tassels are made with coton perlé.

This is a small sporran made in a red agenda cover.
