WIPOCALYPSE 08/22

Time to share with Melissa and the Wipocalypse family the projects we want to complete before the end of the world.

Point de croix / cross stitch

Un hamac pour deux - Cuore e Batticuore

The hearts of the flowers have been stitched in DMC 15 and the LOVE garland

Then I started to correct mistakes and make some new ones...

I did some frogging on the sign because there are three languages choices Italian, French, English in the pattern and I stitched the small hearts not noticing that their places were different in English than in Italian/French. I wanted to mix the 3 languages, was sure to keep "I love you" on the trunk which is the best pattern for me. I plan to stitch the title in French and the sign in Italian.

So happy to have finished the tails of the cherries on the left tree, I only noticed that I made them with two threads instead of one! Arghhhhhh!!!

Check should be my first thought in everything I make!!!

Well, about 40 tails to cut and restitch, Pénélope will be back next month with better news I hope.

Une année de broderie / one year of stitches

Many days in August babysitting our grand children so it's about playing ping pong and mini golf with the kids. Maybe some of you will notice : cherries, balloon, butterfly net, fishing rod... meaning we had fun times with old Wii Animal Crossing.

Family barbecue, vaccin, new handbag, watering and some open spaces for not yet decided patterns.

I finished July reading the English version of "the girl with the pearl earring" (Tracy Chevalier). Always complicated to stitch books and titles so this one was easy.

And as you can see, the update of the Boo knitted cover is reaching 240 squares.

Question of the Month: Have you been participating in gatherings via online chats (Zoom, Google Meet, etc) during the COVID pandemic? If so, what have been the best formats in your opinion?

I haven't participating in online chats during the Covid. No idea if some in French were on line. I still prefer to share with bloggers when I have free moments. During the pandemie with DD2 coming back home and DH, lock down house life was an unforeseen event we managed to got through and that I immediatly forgot!

Still crafting birthdays cards (inspired by Cristiana Bellini art)

When I have re open my craft cardboard folder
I have seen that the glue I used had let some stains on the hair
so it had to be changed

Another birthday card for September, special handybag for DD3
(full post on August 3rd)

remember the little sweets I made in felt
so this time I made them smaller with some glossy paper
for a next cooking theme card

For the fabric dolls Violette (s)

I have crocheted a small sleeveless vest

Not really the right season to wear it but I took the wool out of my bag looking for some wool for a hammock
I find it awful to knit or crochet but I got a few balls my sister gave me
Hard to see where you put your crochet (great for mistakes but annoying if you have to count), impossible to unravel,
possibly only useful as pompon!

Not sure I'll be able to make it again!

Easier will be the second hammock for Soline's doll
remember my first achievement

Another gift for the dolls the beekeeper  (posted on 10th)

7 more squares (in two weeks) knitted for DD3 wool cover
BOO's update is usually shown with the Wipocalypse post

BEE HAPPY STITCHING FULLY FINISH GALLERY

I wanted for so long to participate to the "Fully Finished Gallery" SAL and be able to link up on Rachel's blog Ten hour stitcher on the 10th. This meaning that I have something TOTALLY finished to show to you.

So many stitchings are waiting for frames or finish in bags or cushion for example.

https://tenhourstitcher.blogspot.com/2022/08/link-up-for-fully-finished-gallery-sal.html

But today, I'm proud to present you my stitched beehive.

I'm always looking for new ideas to make for the girls's  (Capucine and Soline)  twin fabric dolls.

I have made many clothes, accessories for school, a small grocery shop pouf, hammock, barbecue, camping sleeping bag and wood fire, a vegetable garden and a pond with animals.

Seeing years ago a Barbie beekeeper, I kept the idea in mind. Last month I started to think about it and after some drawings I took off my stash a fabric and begun to test some patterns for beehive cells using 3 threads of DMC 832/833/834.

Violette or Félix collecting honey means making a beehive, with frames I choose to make with an old fabric with stitched honeycomb, a special hat in tulle, tiny bees, stick to collect the honey, a pot and of course a special spoon.

As I'm developing the project in the same times I'm stitching, I decided to add some beads as drops of honey

and finally to sew the fabric on wood stick from eskimo ice-cream than on a scewer.

I found my own way to make tiny bees

For the hat, I had different ideas, a white plastique cap with tulle, a crocheted hat in cotton wool or one in jean fabric.

I have already made a hat for the doll, with two holes for her hair because Violette got two kind of buns. Capucine told me I couldn't open the hat then the bees will come in so we chose together to give priority to safety!

OK It looks like more to a medieval hennin than to a beekeeper hat!

Then for the beehive, I made a box, glued on it some paper looking like wood (taking care of the space to let the bees come in)

Those wood beads will be ok for the stick and the special spoon

Violette is happy testing her organic honey!

Miel biologique bien sûr !

THE PEOPLE CHOOSE 08/22

First Saturday of August means that I have to post about a topic chosen by our stitching friends. This SAL is run by Jo from Serendipitous Stitching, it's about what you want to see on the blog.

The result of the votes for this month was :

https://serendipitousstitching.blogspot.com/2022/08/the-people-chose-outer-space.html

A spacionaute and the sun parts of a cube project for a baby Timothé you is 11 now!

A famous team that appeared the year of my eighteenth birthday!

We are big fans of astronomy so I stitched on my goose game Ursa major constellation.

I had to look for some moons on my stitchings.

Quelques croissants de lune.

Moon on fabric

Some stars will be ok for the post!

On September birthdays cards, Virgo constellation stitched with the special Gold DMC thread
