Time to share with Melissa and the Wipocalypse family the projects we want to complete before the end of the world.

Point de croix / cross stitch

Jeu de l'oie / Goose game

I was checking on the goose game to select a square for the Olympics and point out the missing patterns. It's a free chart and I choose to keep some original drawings and replace others by my hobbies. 

Photography was missing, so square 60 pattern will be a film (of an analog camera!).

La case 60 du jeu de l'oie se voit attribuer la photographie comme thème et j'ai ajouté une pellicule photo souvenir du bon temps de l'argentique.

I ended 2021 with a total of 73 squares, January is ending with a total of 82 white squares.

2021 s'est achevée sur un total de 73 et je peux totaliser en cette fin de janvier 82 petits carrés en laine blanche !

Robe poupée - doll dress : with a piece of the sleeve of an old pullover, I made the body of a dress, add some crocheted black wool for the top.

Looking for a way to make a nice border I thought of using some Bubble wool from Phildar. I didn't have black so I added iridescent white (could always blacken the thread with a felt pen) on a tight crochet row. Not easy at all I lost a lot of tiny threads and got a poor result, I run a second wool thread under it (should have think of it first would have been easier to do) and now it's ok.

Couture / Sewing

The long skirt has been made after shortening the sleeves of DD1 top.

Two aprons in a garden theme fabric for birthday cards, a small one and one which will be the right size for a doll.

 Around the pond...   Felt update   ///      Quels progrès côté feutrine ?

Here is my new project in felt for Soline and her doll Violette. After the vegetable garden, I plan to make a little landscape with a pond.

Feutrine : un petit paysage autour d'un bassin destiné à Soline et à sa poupée Violette en complément du jardin potager de l'an passé.

Base plaque de feutrine verte, découpe du bassin, confection de roseaux

Feuilles de feutrine vert foncé avec une armature intérieure pour les rigidifier fixées sur des tiges recouvertes de ruban papier vert.

Dark green felt sheets with a thin wire inside to stiffen them, 

fixed on rods covered with green paper tape.

For the mushrooms, I have taken the same pattern than for the vegetable garden but moved to red caps with white peas.

Pour les champignons, j'ai repris le modèle de champignons du potager mais j'ai changé les couleurs pour des pieds blancs avec des chapeaux rouges à pois.

Tout commence toujours par un dessin...

I want to make an empty tree trunk where some small animals could hide maybe sew a press button or velcro to keep it in place. It will need a rolled up cardboard inside to stay open. I'm thinking of adding some green carded wool as moss, small mushrooms and pearl cotton as bark pattern.

Here is the "unrolled" tree bark.

A tree stump could be great as an owl house too. 

De l'herbe autour du bassin, un tronc creux qui pourrait cacher de petits animaux, une souche pour accueillir une chouette...

Voici le "déroulé" d'écorce en préparation. Il sera maintenu en place par un velcro ou un bouton pression, habillé de mousse en laine feutrée et renforcé par un rouleau de carton.

Brainstorming in progress to find the right pattern for a small frog, a fox and an owl. And I'll love a turtle too!

Reste à trouver le bon dessin pour une grenouille, un renard et une chouette. J'ai aussi envie de faire une tortue !

This first post of January will be half about Christmas half about 2022 plans.

Back from Alsace, I had some purchases to use for gifts and lot of ideas for decorations visiting Christmas markets.

Plein de belles créations de Noël vues sur les marchés, les broderies, tissus Kelsch, coeurs et autres lutins donnent envie de reprendre les ciseaux et les aiguilles.

Tout d'abord un petit tour dans le village de Noël avec des nouveautés bien sûr !

Cette adorable maison d'argile, réplique de la maison Pifster (1537)  de Colmar, puis ce joli camion acheté chez Käthe Wolfhart à Riquewihr.

Le magasin s'appelle la féérie de Noël et porte bien son nom.

Specialist for Christmas decoration, KW shop in Riquewihr (I found one in York) is great to visit, often expensive but you can always find a small gift or new ideas.

Un peu de découpage pour bricoler quelques étiquettes comme ces rennes en 3D qui pour finir se sont reconvertis en marques places.

L'occasion d'utiliser, dans un carnet de papiers décorés, ces motifs de bonnets et d'écharpes.

I was making some labels for gifts and finally choose to reemploy them into places markers for our Christmas table.

I bought a nice fabric for a new table clothe in this Riquewihr's shop.

Chez ce marchand de Riquewihr, j'ai trouvé ce tissu en 280 de large

pour une nouvelle nappe.

Ta da !   avec une jolie et délicieuse couronne d'Avent à déguster à l'apéro !

An Advent wreath can be delicious too, yummy!

Some fabric scraps for oven mittens maybe...

Now, about goals for 2022, I hope there will be felt gifts for the kids, new accessories and clothes for the dolls, progress on the patterns I received for my birthday and birthday cards, knitted blanket.

On the wish list, still necklaces, clothes

as gifts for myself, decorations for the house.

For Soline and her doll Violette, after the vegetable garden, I plan to make in felt a little garden with a pond.

some reeds around a pond,

waterlilies.

Hedgehog, owl, squarrel, turtle

will be fun to add.

I made some geese as Christmas

ornaments and save two for Soline and Capucine. 

I started with hedgehogs, simple patterns, I first thought to sew a wood pearl for the nose but didn't find the right size in my stash. Find this little box with shining burgundy pearls which perfectly fit.

WIPOCALYPSE 2022 INTRO

Each month we have to share the projects we want to complete before the End Of The World.

Melissa's blog has some troubles and it's on the Facebook page that you can see our introducing posts.

On the first Sunday of January she always asked us to introduce ourself.

January 3rd was a little bit early for me to have my list ready so that's why I'm a week late.

It's always a post to show what I love to do in some funny way.

Last month checking my December's posts of the previous years I saw my first post was on December 21th 2011. Too close to the end of year to organize something special, I decide to celebrate it today with a 10 theme pictures.

As in 2021, cross stitch, embroidery, felt, knitting, watercolor and scrapbooking.

Happy and relax, no big goals but soon Olympic games.

I do hope to be back on sewing clothes, not only for the dolls!

On the wish list, will be planning the 5th Tour de France ; be back in my necklaces box, some need repairs and relooking ; start eventually a cardboard carousel book house for dolls ; finally my hoops are still waiting for a new life.

Quelques soucis pour joindre le blog de Mélissa où les participantes du Wipocalypse postent normalement leurs articles.

Début janvier, la présentation du programme comme d'habitude.

Les dix ans du blog fin décembre m'ont donné l'idée de décliner ce chiffre avec quelques photos.

Je reprends la formule de l'an passé : point de croix, broderie, feutrine, tricot, aquarelle et cartonnage. Pas de buts particuliers, à part participer aux prochains Jeux Olympiques. Relax, on pioche dans les différentes activités précitées, simplement pour s'amuser.

Avec quand même, l'envie de coudre un peu plus de vêtements et pas seulement pour les poupées.

Côté liste de souhaits : lancer la préparation du 5ème Tour de France, ouvrir le coffre à bijoux et ressortir mes colliers à réparer et à remettre au goût du jour, bricoler une maison carrousel en carton pour Violette et enfin confectionner quelque chose avec mes cercles à broder. L'année idéale pour mettre un tigre dans son moteur !

Our local January DIY fair have been cancelled so no purchases this year (again). Can't say my boxes are empty (far from it) but it's always great to see stalls full of new patterns, threads, fabric and exchange with the sellers.

Pas de salon Création et Savoir Faire en janvier, annulée à cause des restrictions du Covid. Snif, trop triste de ne pas pouvoir farfouiller dans les étals de  tissus, voir les nouveautés des créateurs, les fils, breloques, perles etc... non pas que mes réserves diminuent (loin s'en faut) mais rien ne vaut le commerce de proximité !
