Time to share with Melissa and the Wipocalypse family the projects we want to complete before the end of the world.

A busy month with the winter Olympics

Jeu de l'oie / Goose game

Après la case 60 le mois dernier avec ma "pelloche Kodak" et les ciseaux en 55 pour les Olympics) je me suis sentie inspirée par cet ouvrage et en vérifiant la liste de mes DIY je me suis aperçue que je n'avais rien pour évoquer la fabrication de colliers en perles de rocaille que j'aimais beaucoup faire il y a quelques années. La case n° 30 présente désormais une boucle d'oreille/bijou.

I was kind of listing all my DIY, checking I haven't miss something when I realize that years ago I loved to make neckless with seed beads (we call rockery beads here). So I have to find a way to put it in a small square, not enough place for a neckless but I love to wear earrings.

Lucky me to have a page for precious stones in my encyclopedia. 

Recently I found an old wip (a kit with metallic threads).

With 2 different greens E 699 and E 703 which means emerald was selected and it's my birthstone another sign of fate.

Some gold E 3852 for the backstitch and one thread of white E 5200 with one thread of silver for diamond.

Heureuse trouvaille dernièrement, un vieux kit non terminé avec des fils métalliques. Deux teintes de vert E 699 et E 703, parfaits pour une émeraude (autre signe du destin, c'est ma pierre de naissance).

Or E 3852 pour les contours et un fil de blanc E 5200 associé à un fil argent pour les diamants.

I'm glad to be back on this stitching, feel "inspired" and found two new patterns ideas : the earring and a bow to symbolize the n° 58 with means you have to go back to the start.

I will soon post a dedicated post about this stitched game with more pictures.

Je suis contente de ressortir cet ouvrage et je sais quel motif broder en n° 58 avec un arc tourné vers le début puisque elle signifie dans la règle du jeu le retour à la case départ.

Et hier, deux nouvelles idées, la case n° 59 offre peu de place mais j'ai pensé que je pourrais broder mes initiales comme une signature et un lien aux abécédaires brodés par nos ainées. Puisque 59 est mon année de naissance cela m'a paru évident !

Ensuite il me restait la case 37 qui sur le modèle original est partagée avec la 36 qui comporte une oie. Ayant pensé ajouter un chat ou un oiseau, je me suis dit pourquoi pas mon animal préféré : la loutre. Avec si peu d'espace libre ce n'était pas gagné mais que pensez-vous de ce schéma ? Bientôt un article plus détaillé avec des photos.

And yesterday, two new ideas, square n° 59 offers is a little one but I thought I could embroider my initials as a signature and a link to the alphabet books embroidered by our elders. Then 59 being my birth year it seemed obvious to me!

Then I had the 37 square which on the original pattern is shared with the 36 which has a goose. Having thought of adding a cat or a bird, I said to myself why not my favourite animal: the otter. With so little space it was not easy but what do you think of this homemade chart?

J'ai ajouté les points en métallique E 699 sur la ceinture, les chaussures et les yeux de Mme Claus.

I have tried to make pictures which show the metallic red spots but the result isn't very efficient.

WIPOLYMPICS - CEREMONIE DE CLOTURE

Nous voici à l'heure de la cérémonie de clôture des Jeux Olympiques d'Hiver 2022 avec cette jolie ronde de nos athlètes. Un petit bilan s'impose, temporaire puisque bien sûr les prochains Jeux Paralympiques me donneront l'occasion de continuer certains projets.

It's time for a short review with the French team dansing for the closing ceremony, many projects will progress during the Paralympics which will begin soon.

In only miss one "sport", now progress for hockey on an old WIP.

C'est l'occasion de refaire un point sur cet ouvrage qui est constitué par un panneau de fond rouge brodé de flocons, de boules de Noël et de branchages.

sur lequel sont posés quatre panneaux :

Saint Nicolas, la crèche, boule à neige et traîneau du Père Noël.

There are four little scenes : St Nicholas, the Cot, Snow globe and Santa'a sleigh  to sew on a red background panel embroidered with snowflakes, baubles and branches.

I ran out of silver thread, so I stopped the stitching. 

Je suis tombée en panne de fil argent donc les stocks refaits, je reprends la finition des décors du fond.

Quelques étoiles, des roues festonnées et des points de tige et chaînette.

Ski : piste noire - broder du fil noir  /  Black run - stitch black thread

Une longue période s'est passée depuis la dernière fois où j'ai travaillé sur cet ouvrage.

It's time to be back on this lovely pattern, most of the cross stitching is done, I'll have to stitch the white dots as the fabric is a pale lilac but today black will be on my needle.

The pattern says to do backstitch or stem stitch for the lamp post and the hat. I think split filling stitch would be better. 

They also say to use DMC D310 (separating threads). I don't remember why I bought DMC E310 but with black 310 that's what I found in my bag. I use one strand for the top of the dress. Explanations are a little foggy for me but I'll do my best for a similar result.

End of 2021 score was 73 pieces, add 11 more knitted squares, no more wool

so I'm reaching a total of 84.

I've got two birthday cards to send this month and I have chosen the garden theme because I wanted to add as a gift some nasturtium seeds. The flower's name in French is capucine and Capucine is the firstname of my grand daughter. 

I have some in my garden and I want to offer some to my goddaughter and my friend Roselyne for their own gardens.

I selected the U shape pattern and made garden aprons, small tools, cut some flowers, magazines, seeds bags, a watering can,  made felt carrots, green peas,  wood trellis and some felt climbing plants. 

Finally, I had too many accessories for my five "walls" and no enough place for the carrotts behind the grass. So I made a basket to stick under the apron in which I'll collect 2 carrots and 3 peas (instead of climbing peas).

Initialement les carottes devaient trouver leur place derrière la frise d'herbe et les petits pois grimper sur un support.

J'ai finalement opté pour un panier posé sous le tablier recevant ma récolte.

These flowers pages have been bought long long time ago, I'm glad to use them today.

I thought that a macramé hanging could be a nice decoration. After two different attempts knotting wollen threads, one was ok for a common small felt pot and as the second one was narrower I made a kind of vase which will receive some roses.

I add some glitter (what would be life without glitter).

Perfect wood planks for shelves.
