Point de croix - Cross stitching

Retour d'un encours de chez Cuore e Batticuore avec la finition du texte situé en haut de la broderie. Trois langues - italien, anglais et français sont proposées dans cette grille. J'ai fait le choix de garder l'italien pour le panneau de droite, l'anglais pour le coeur gravé dans l'arbre et la banderolle et le français pour le titre.

Back to my WIP Cuore e Batticuore with the finishing of the text at the top of the embroidery. Three languages - Italian, English and French - are proposed in this chart. I chose to keep the Italian for the right panel, the English for the heart engraved in the tree and the banner and the French for the title.

Feutrine - Felt

Début d'un nouveau projet : la plage pour Soline.

A new start, a felt beach for Soline.

Trois différents bleus pour représenter la mer et les vagues, un jaune pour le sable de la plage. J'ai commencé par deux petits décors : un palmier et un flamant rose.

I have bought the felt, three blue colors for the sea/waves and a yellow/beige for the beach/sand.

Je vais faire deux types de feuilles : une plate et une pliée. 

I'm starting with a palm tree and a pink flamingo.

For the flat and folded palm leaves I'm using a thin wire covered with green wool and sewed in the middle to be able to bend it.

Broderie - Embroidery 

One Year of stitches is my 12 months project since last May to stitch big and little events in my life.

November, December were busy with holidays and Christmas and I was late on stitching these 2 months events.

It's really funny to stitch visits, readings, movies or anything that had happened to create this all year of memories. The only question is how to make it in a tiny embroidery and what design choose to represent a book title, a show or a town.

To be honest sometimes I look on design and icons files to find some ideas and some days it's serendipity which helps or connections in my grey cells.

During our trip to Lorraine we visited an Art Nouveau Museum and the Lunéville conservatory for the point de Lunéville technique.

That's why you'll see more sequins and beads in December month.

The M initiale for Majorelle, a peacock feather and kind of Lunaria flowers to represent the Art Nouveau design stitched with the 2 metallic threads I bought in Nancy.

La pièce maitresse de ce menu du wipocalypse sera "une année de broderie"

C'est très plaisant de broder tous ces petits souvenirs bien que pas toujours facile de trouver le mini dessin pour illustrer un voyage, un spectacle etc...

La ville Majorelle sera représenté par l'initiale M et j'ai choisi une plume de paon et des branchages de monnaie du pape pour figurer l'Art Nouveau.

Les deux fils DMC  E 130 E 135   métalliques acquis dans une mercerie de Nancy.

Tiny pearls for the S of Soline, 3 glasses of champagne for the three cousins reunion and the "smiling Angel" from the Reims cathedrale.

I'm very happy with the result, sewing iridescent sequins on the wings and tiny beads for the hair. The bigger issue is to find a needle for those so tiny beads (any advises?).

Je me suis bien amusée avec l'ange au sourire de la cathédrale de Reims et j'aime beaucoup le résultat final, ses ailes remplies avec des petits sequins irisés. Le plus compliqué fût de trouver une aiguille assez fine pour les perles miniatures.

Un joli S en perles pour Soline, trois coupes de champagne pour honorer les retrouvailles des trois cousins. 

For plays and movies I tried to find a way with the titles and stitched some "curtain call". The circus tent was more easy.

Pour les pièces de théâtre, un lever de rideau et une évocation des pièces, plus simple pour un chapiteau de cirque.

For Christmas : decorations and chocolate bûche.

Une bûche au chocolat et quelques décos de Noël.

Au milieu de tout cela, un manège de bonbons, le covid, le début de la saison de biathlon, un gnome, les scores du BOO, du gui pour la nouvelle année.

In the middle of it all, a candy carousel, the covid, the start of the biathlon season, a gnome, the BOO scores, mistletoe for the new year.

Back to December presents, we visited my cousin Christine and my goddaughter Virginie and I got spoiled with little stitchings kits, a    cushion, some lovely tiny notes.

De très jolis cadeaux rapportés de Fagnières, ma cousine et sa fille m'ont gâtée. J'en ai profité pour une petite démo de point de croix à Soline mais sous la lumière artificielle je me suis trompée entre le blanc et l'écru. Il va donc falloir adapter la couleur de la théière !

I couldn't wait to show cross stitching to Soline, I started that little teapot but I mixed between white and ecru so I'll have to change the pot color.

Then an amazing pop up album made by Jo arrived in the mail box

The papers are all winter designs with lovely animals and blue colors.

Every new page offers you surprising little inserts. What a wonderful gift!

De merveilleux écureuils, chouettes, renards et faons se promènent à travers les pages de ce non moins merveilleux livre pop up réalisé par Jo sur des papiers aux thèmes hivernaux dans un dégradé de bleu.

Chaque page réserve de multiples surprises, cartonnettes, pochettes, volets. Quelle superbe réalisation !

 

In my letter to Santa I have made a wish he could bring me a new cross stitch kit and I received it.

BOO knitted cover : I'm close to 5 more squares which means I'm reaching the total of 300 squares next week! 

Avec cinq carrés supplémentaires je devrais atteindre le total de 300 carrés pour la couverture BOO la semaine prochaine. Hourra !

There will be two birthdays in February so I chose the "handybag card" I made last September for DD3.

One will use the same paper and the second will be made in pink colors.

Many cuttings, the bag, the handles, the pockets.

Accessories will be pencils, make up, perfume bottle, necklace, mirror, keys, glasses.

Pour les deux cartes d'anniversaire de février prochain, j'ai choisi de refaire le modèle "carte sac à main" réalisé pour l'anniv d'Eve-Amélie.

Je vais utiliser la même série de cartons, rayé violet pour l'une et nuances de rose pour la seconde.

Première étape : découpe du sac, des poignées et des poches.

Puis les accessoires : crayons, maquillage, flacon de parfum, collier, miroir, clés, lunettes.

En passant par la Lorraine,

à défaut de rencontrer des capitaines,

je visite les merceries (comme d'hab !).

Des sachets de sequins et perles mélangées et ce très joli décor que
j'aimerais utiliser en broche ou en accessoire à chignon.

During our holidays in Lorraine (the French title for Frozen is "snow queen" ="la reine des neiges" = Lorraine des neiges !

we visited Lunéville famous for embroidery and I bought this lovely work.

I could use it like a brooch or maybe as an accessorie for bun I love to wear.

It's called embroidery but it's not really cause it's made on the back of the work (tulle) with chain stitch and a tiny crochet. The beads are already on the thread and the stitcher take the beads one by one.

I'll end this post with a candy carousel! When Capucine saw the one I made for the girls on an old picture she asked me to do it again

So here we are, cuting horses shapes in smoked salmon golden carboard, their back in mirror paper, using paper straws

You can add light with small garlands hiden in the top "hat"

and around the middle tower

Then I have chosen marshmallow bears as horsemen

and many different candies which have disappeared very quickly

I added the music of an old birthday card to the first I made years ago

Capucine enjoyed spinning the merry-go-round and

eating a sweet on the way

It's the 10th of January and I want to share this first achievement of this new year!

I have been hoping so many times to be able to post about this finish last year but this project was out of the basket then back in the basket and the weeks go by...

OUPS !!!   HOOPS!!!

Enfin, j'ai terminé ce projet entamé depuis longtemps qui après quelques aller-retour dans le panier des en-cours est achevé aujourd'hui et me permet de participer au SAL de Rachel !

Petit rappel sur l'historique de ce projet, j'ai repéré il y a quelques temps cette décoration réalisée par "Tea and a sewing machine" qui mettait en ligne un tuto sur son site.

La grande mode des décos faites dans des cercles à broder a commencé il y a quelques années et cela me plaisait beaucoup donc après un petit bilan côté fournitures me voici lancée dans la confection de ma propre version.

Lot of decorations made in embroidery hoops since a few years and I liked it a lot. The tuto from Anna "Tea and a sewing machine" was perfect to help me starting to make my own version.

Back to the supplies cupboard : hoops, fabrics, white tulle, small wood deers.

Sélection parmi les fournitures des tissus pour le sol et les troncs d'arbre, le tulle blanc et des sujets en bois.

Plusieurs essais avant de décider des tissus retenus.

Un tissu "feuilles d'automne" pour le sol et différents motifs et teintes pour les troncs d'arbres.

Fall leaves fabric for the ground and for the trees trunks different colors : cream, two greens and brown.

The two cream trunks are embroidered with DMC diamant thread (coral stitch and feather stitch). And I added a golden line at the edge of the ground.

Les deux troncs crème sont rebrodés avec du DMC diamant

en point d'épine et point de Boulogne.

Et une ligne en point de tige sur le bord du sol.
