LIVE STITCHING MARATHON DAY

 This is a fun/serious project inspired by Jo from Serendipitous Stitching.

She always attempts to have her Marathon Day in June (as close as possible to the Summer Solstice).
This year she posted on Thursday, June 22th and worked on 17 different stitchings.

I'm a great fan of her stitching marathon and suceeded to join once in 2017 then in 2022. Easier now that I am retired, I first planned it on last Tuesday but a last minute call from DD1 changed my schedule and I spent the day with Timothé (due to exam period at school). So today will be the big day as DH is visiting his Mum.

Voici les longues journées de juin et un projet initié par Jo dont je suis avec bonheur "la journée marathon".
La plus longue journée de l'année devrait être consacrée aux travaux d'aiguilles (cela devrait être inscrit dans la loi).

On the list (but no-exhaustive list of tasks as my boss use to write it!) :

I wanted to make a birthday card for Capucine with the idea of a doll on a swing.

I have spent more time than expected but it was my first test with this shape (the only surprise I get!).

So this day ends with some crochet, some cross stitch and more scrapbooking. Looks like a marathon made in a sedan chair! A light program but some progress on cards/gift which have to be ready in two weeks!

Un marathon au kilométrage réduit ou réalisé dans une chaise à porteurs... un peu de crochet, quelques croix et surtout du cartonnage pour avancer sur des projets de cartes/cadeau qui doivent être terminés dans la prochaine quinzaine.

Back to the French capital, we are sailing on the Seine but where will we moor our boat?

De retour dans notre capitale, nous naviguons donc sur la Seine mais où allons-nous amarrer notre bateau ?

UN PEU DE VENT DU LARGE A CABOURG

 We are back from Cabourg and I want to share some sunny days with you.

De retour de notre petit séjour normand, voici quelques photos de Cabourg sous le soleil.

Our main objective was of course to enjoy the beach and the wind with our kites

Du vent parfait, pas trop fort et stable.

Perfect wind, not too strong and steady.

and when you don't have enough hands you can get help

an old friend from DD1 (I open it, add velcro patch and now she gets a new life as technical assistant).

Sand is better than Dieppe pebbles to walk on.

Lot of shells on the beach and a special shape I wanted to collect for a future project, so I made some stock!

The rooster weathervane was part of the repair of the church tower

Market, Grand Hotel, Merry-go-round.

Our last visit was during the Covid period so every place was closed, it was time to return to restaurant, museum and shops.

Lot of choices in this small town.

Fish food on the menu with a special congrat to the "Hasting's" and its quiet terrace at the back!!!

for a fillet of sea bream with courgette spaghettis and an amazing pesto with pine gable, fennel seeds, pansy and tops of young peas plants.

A nice visit to the "villa du temps retrouvé",  a Belle Epoque exhibition with lot of paintings, furnitures, music room, letters and books displays, lot of black and white movies from the early 20th century.

J'aime beaucoup les scénographies qui animent ainsi les cadres, jeux de cartes ou cahier d'écriture avec de petits films en noir et blanc.

La villa est meublée, décorée pour rappeler l'ambiance Belle Epoque et nous offre de magnifiques peintures de paysages normands et de nombreux portraits réalisés par Paul César Helleu, Jacques Emile Blanche, pas de fond propre donc des prêts de musées et institutions prestigieuses et un renouvellement garanti.

ETAPE / STAGE 15/3

 

Sous-préfecture de la Marne (51), Vitry-le-François, doit son nom au roi François 1er  (déjà cité lors de l'étape n° 2 - Le Havre). Vous le retrouvez ainsi parmi les personnages représentés sur l'affiche du festival de BD de 2021. Ce sont donc les bulles de bande dessinée qui étaient évoquées dans l'article de jeudi dernier pour la future édition prévue en septembre/octobre prochain.

If you had added one to 50,  then you have found 51 which is the department of Marne.

Vitry-le-François, the sub-prefecture of the Marne (51), owes its name to King François I (already mentioned in stage 2 - Le Havre). 

You will find him among the characters represented on the poster of the 2021 comic book festival. 

These are the bubbles of comics that were mentioned in last Thursday's article for the next edition scheduled for September/October.
