In the gardens, we discover the woodwork copied according to the plans of the woodtruss n° 07 destroyed during the fire of Notre-Dame de Paris.

The carpenters without borders realized it in one week at the beginning of July with the methods of the XIIth century, it will be exposed during the heritage's days on the forecourt of the cathedral.

La roseraie

Rosier Madame de Montespan au délicieux parfum

Pictures were not allowed inside (because it's the living house of Prince and Princess Kayali) so those one are from the internet.

Loved the comments about XVIIIe and XIXe food habits and how you could "rent" a pineapple not to eat it but only for one evening to decorate your table as it was so expensive.

GIFTED GORGEOUSNESS 09/20

It's time to update the Gifted Gorgeousness monthly post :

Please visit Jo's blog "Serendipitous stitching" to discover what she made with or for gifts here :

https://serendipitousstitching.blogspot.com/

Having our grandchildren at home every Monday in August gave me the opportunity to see Félix and Violette and offered them some new equipment.

The sleeping bag is finished and was tested in the garden with the campfire. During this visit, I had the idea of a quick-made boat for some adventures. Capucine loved it a lot and will with no doubt invent new stories for her dolls.

De nouvelles réalisations pour les poupées Zazobouzi.

I have add the third color, a blue wool, to the hammock and begun to tie the fringes.

We spend some funny times playing angling game. I had already made some fishes, mermaid,  octopus... during 2017-2018

and wanted to sew some "surprise" fishes with one side kind of pocket to put some candies.

Three were made, great success with the kids and a facecious grandpa succeed fishing her granddaughter and hide her pacifier among the fishing

On another day we made some paper bags to play shopping, decorated with old stamps I used to play with 55 years ago!

September is DD3 birthday's month, so I had a card to make. A good opportunity to play with paper, cardboard and fabric and discover the U shape card with some internet tutos.

Kind of violet (her favorite color) miror paper, paper buttons and spool with real green threads.
The card is folded to fit into the envelope.

A last gift, some blue sky and sun, we have nice holidays in Haute-Normandie, as you can see on this pic I took in Fécamp.

YOU CHOOSE 09/20

This month, surprise : you choose to make me take out my Geometry fabric WIP.

A visit to Jo's blog and you'll know all about "let the people choose".

https://serendipitousstitching.blogspot.com/

Some years ago, I was tempted and bought some Geometry fabric to stitch with pearl cotton.

I still have some flowers to stitch and the border. I cut some paper flowers to see how many I can add : a big one, two middle sizes and two small one.

Here are two other patterns I want to stitch
I'll have to buy some DMC n° 5 to try it on a white fabric I have in my stock.

the second, maybe in Christmas colors and an heart cut finish.

Mon encyclopédie propose quelques exemples où trouver quelques jolies bordures.
Nice borders in Marianne cross stitch encyclopedy.

We had to cancel our April and June holidays because of the Covid, but are so happy to be preparing our next departure for Dieppe. The kite festival has been cancelled too but we kept our rental to spend some days on sea side, have some fun with our kites and visit some new places. So, I hope to see you soon on the pebble beach.
