SEWING BEE / FIL AU CHAS

I love fabric, can't resist to buy some in DIY fair or shops for one "I don't know yet" project and I'm so happy when the idea of something I need, easy to make matches with the right design in my boxes full of fabric.

My audio headset needed a bag to travel... here is the perfect cloth coupon.

Un projet utile, un joli tissu parfait pour sa réalisation, voilà de quoi ravir une couturière !
Mon casque avait besoin d'un petit sac de transport, l'occasion de chercher dans mon stock et d'y dénicher le motif adéquat !

fleece lined with a small pocket for the cable

doublé de polaire, une petite poche pour le fil du chargeur

une fermeture éclair et un pompon gland pour une belle finition

a zipper and a tassel pompom for a nice finish

Deux jolis charms : une valise pour Londres et Big Ben

J'aime les livres et leurs accessoires et ai toujours trouvé les lutrins très décoratifs

mais pas de place chez moi pour un modèle en bois sculpté !

I love books and their accessories and have always found lecterns to be very decorative.

but no room at home for a carved wooden model!

But I have seen in famous libraries or museum some made with fabric and leather.

mais j'avais vu des présentations en tissu et cuir dans des bibliothèques

C'était donc le moment de sortir ce superbe tissu qui attendait son heure de gloire !

So it was the good time to take out this superb fabric which was waiting for its hour of glory!

Un simple "coussin" plat de forme rectangulaire, piqué en son milieu, que l'on roule tout simplement sur ses bords pour adopter la forme souhaitée de support pour le livre.

A simple flat "cushion" of rectangular shape, sewed in the middle, which is simply rolled on its edges to adopt the desired shape of support for the book.

The wizard I chose is a famous one with great fans in the family!

Le sorcier choisi est fameux et très apprécié par tous les membres de la famille.

For my SiL1's birthday in next November I'd like to make a HP cushion. Many diy pics on the net have inspired me so it's the good time to take it off the basket. I have worked on the scarf for an old GG post.

Mon projet de coussin Harry Potter sera parfait pour cet article. La dernière fois je construisais la fameuse écharpe avec des chutes de tissu d'un plaid.

I have now cut the black fabric for his hair, pre-sewed it on a pink fabric for the face.

Then I have stitched the glasses and the scar.

J'ai brodé les lunettes et la cicatrice avec du coton perlé, faufiler le tissu noir des cheveux et ajouter la partie basse de l'écharpe. Reste à coudre des yeux bleus !

This is how it will look like at the end with blue eyes of course.

Le camion de "C'est pas sorcier" a fréquenté notre quartier pendant de nombreuses années offrant aux enfants et parents des expériences sympathiques et instructives. L'occasion pour moi de leur rendre un petit hommage !

I know now that 20 in 20" was totally crazy well here is my unrealistic list ;
Choisir le 20 en 2020 était (je le sais maintenant) totalement irréaliste, quoiqu'il en soit voici ma liste :

Not many updates, only on two works

16 - Snowball - boule à neige - part of a Christmas stitching from "Un chat dans l'aiguille.- Quand Noël s'en mêle". More sand points on the "ground"

and 17 - dolls clothes

I'm glad to be back on knitting and crochet with small works. I planned to use my wool for dolls clothes, I had some tiny white wool, I used a 1.75 crochet and started a top with shell stitches.

As it's a good way to test some new stitches I tried cloud stitches for the dress, I didn't knew how to increase the width of the skirt but adding one more stitch at the end of each rank created a nice train I decided to keep.

Deux petites pelotes de laine très fine blanche pour un essai de bustier au point coquille, puis une jupe au point de nuage. Ne sachant pas comment augmenter la largeur de la jupe, j'ai ajouté une arche supplémentaire à la fin de chaque rang créant ainsi une traîne fort bienvenue.

I will add an underskirt later but then I thought of adding some beads in each hole

Je vais doubler la robe d'un jupon et j'ai eu l'idée de coudre des perles dans chaque espace

Question of the Month: Are you a seasonal stitcher, or can you stitch on any holiday/seasonal stitch at any time of year?

No stitching season for me, of course sometimes I can be bored by a stitching or discouraged by mistakes so I need to change my mind with another work. But I recently retired, felt, wool, fabric, cross stitching, scrapbooking, painting, cooking, gardening... the list is long and no exhaustive (as said my boss for my duties list). But this times it's only pleasure and the only trouble is to control the wish list! Control which I will totally forget as October is about starting new ideas for Christmas!

BYE BYE NORMANDIE

Le thème du triangle s'étant imposé lors de la découverte de cette superbe ferme de charpente, voici un assortiment de géométrie

I chose triangle as my pic challenge for this holidays, here is a selection.

obligatoire... au restaurant "Le Cactus" cela ne s'invente pas !

Two small warning triangles : You have to wear a mask inside and if you want to protest they give you the phone number of Elysée and Matignon which are the places of our President and PM.

The restaurant name was "the cactus", true... and... spicy...

To close this holidays chapter, I 'm sure you'd like this gentleman welcoming us with gestures barriers.
