March's birthdays were on the top of my list, three cards to make...

Fun again to "dive" in my stash and collect papers and pictures for some 

scrapbooking for a seaside theme card

Still near to the beach...  Timothé has spent five days in Brittany with his schoolmates for a "green class". Family could send some letters and I found on the net that lovely starfishes pattern with wishing waves!

Plus une vague de souhaits à envoyer à Timothé pendant sa classe découverte en Bretagne.

DD3 and Benjamin are fan of FF7 and I tried to make in felt "Cactuar"

to wish him an happy birthday.

I can prove that it was birthdays indeed

with those two delicious cakes,  lime and peach and 3 chocolates.

Same pattern than for Amélie, but I don't know how I managed

to stitch the heart of the flower differently 

Tricot  /  Knitting

I have finished to knit the white wool from the ex-shawl and I'll need some pink, black and another not already chosen color for the pattern DD3 wanted. The more difficult was to find a shop selling online the same kind of wool to be able to knit squares looking similar.

It's a thin wool, knitted with n° 3 needles, I have ordered pink and pale mauve to check the colors and how many squares I could knit with 1 ball. A good news opening my parcel, the wool looks alike and I can keep the same counting.    

 

Now the next step is a mathematic problem (no train speeding, no empty bathtub) : 190 m of wool per ball, about 65 stitches for 1 meter meaning two ranks, 40 ranks for one square and so on... 21 u = pink,    56 u = black etc...  who thinks knitting isn't scientific? The optionnal question could be : how old will I be when the cover will be all finished?

Mes aiguilles n° 3 vont de nouveau chauffer, ayant fini de tricoter la laine blanche récupérée de l'ex-châle, j'avais besoin de laine rose, noire et d'une autre couleur non définie pour le motif choisi par EA. Le plus dur a été de trouver un magasin en ligne vendant la même qualité pour un résultat semblable. 

La laine Bambi de la boutique "le chat qui pelote" sera parfaite et me permettra de réaliser les carrés souhaités.

 WIP PARA-OLYMPICS - 

Back on my Olympic program with the Paralympics games.

I'm back on the WIP I worked on some weeks ago : the goose game,  cross stitch Parisian, the felt animals and make something round as the curling stone...

A l'occasion des Jeux Paralympiques, je continue le programme commencé à l'ouverture des JO de Beijing. Soit : point de croix : jeu de l'oie, la Parisienne, feutrine : les animaux et fabriquer un décor dans un cercle à broder en lien avec le jeu de curling...

36/37  goose / add beak, legs, grass - frog the sky add a bird, water

Mes cases du jeu se remplissent avec de nouveaux dessins. Derniers choix : une loutre pour tenir compagnie à l'oie n° 36, un arc en 58 pour signifier le retour au départ, mes initiales en 59 comme signature de l'ouvrage. Et quelques aménagements : ajout d'une table pour ma couturière en 51, pénélopage du ciel commencé en 36 pour alléger le motif, un peu d'herbe au sol et schéma pour l'oie future en 45. 

If you came on 58 in the game you'll have to go back to the start, I thought bow and arrow (I'd have love to practice when I was young) could be a smart pattern. No particular idea for 59 but as I was asking myself where I could "sign" the game. My grey cells have added signature, initials, 59 which is my birth year and validate the idea of stitching a monogram (maiden name).

I haven't stitched on a polka dots fabric so I have stitched in white B5200 the "peas" of the skirt.

Je n'ai pas choisi un tissu à pois, donc j'ai brodé en blanc B5200 les trous laissés dans la jupe brodée en noir.

Felt :   around the pond

animals :  squarrel, turtle

Feutrine :   autour du bassin

animaux :  écureuil, tortue

Curling : entre frisettes et balais, j'ai hésité et  j'ai finalement gardé la forme ronde de la pierre pour cette épreuve.

I have spotted this lovely winter hoop some times ago on the net and kept the link for a DIY afternoon (I bought some white tulle last year maybe for a skirt for Capucine).

I loved the back made of tulle giving a 3D effect but cutting the deer looks uneasy and I remembered having some wood ornaments in my stash.

Here are all the supplies I collected in my boxes, let see now what will come from them!

J'avais repéré ce modèle il y a quelques temps déjà, j'aime bien le montage sur tulle qui donne cet effet 3D et la clarté qui passe au travers de ce paysage.

J'ai donc rassemblé les fournitures disponibles dans mes boîtes : du tulle blanc, des tissus, des silhouettes et figurines de bois et bien sûr les cercles à broder.

Côté tissus, un imprimé de feuilles automnales pour le sol ou bien un joli lainage rapporté du Pays de Galles (visite d'un musée textile et achat d'un sac de chutes) qui est plus marron que ne laisse entrevoir la photo.

On the fabric side, an autumnal leaf print for the floor or a pretty woolen fabric brought back from Wales (visit to a textile museum and purchase of a bag of scraps) which is more brown than the photo suggests.

Pour les arbres, cet assortiment de cotonnades.

And for the trees, those cotton fabrics.

Of course... hoops.   Et bien sûr des cercles à broder.

I have tested different fabrics, asked DD3 for advices and finally choose the autumnal leaves fabric for the ground.

Mon choix final s'est donc porté sur un sol couvert de feuilles d'automne et des troncs d'arbre en tissu motif ronds marron et vert, motif écriture asiatique sur fond verdâtre et un tissu blanc cassé avec un feuillage ton sur ton peut-être à rebroder.

THE PEOPLE CHOOSE 03/22

 First Saturday of March means that I'm glad to post about a topic chosen by our stitching friends. This SAL is run by Jo from Serendipitous Stitching, it's about what you want to see on the blog.

My last update was about frogging part of the left tree to get the right color of green.

I am close to the end, I have certainly some backstitch to do and to check if I missed some stitches.

It is certainly the good place to show one cover I have made when I have cut the curtains for my dining room. I used dark red and brown  leftovers and bought a small piece of fabric in yellow and orange to bright up the patchwork.

Every small strip of fabric went together for blocking the air from the front door.

I have made four curtains per window which give eight sliding panel and 4 more to be able to change to colors in spring which give a total of  .

Lors de la confection des panneaux de rideaux de la salle à manger, montage d'une petite couverture avec les restes de tissus.

Un kit de chez H & E acheté au salon, jamais commencé, (les tissus sont très fins) ma nouvelle mac sera peut-être plus adaptée pour ces coutures.                A kit for an hen cushion.

Dans les en cours et projets, une couverture spéciale Noël un peu laissée de côté... et deux modèles que j'aimerais réaliser : les chats pour DD2 et les chiens.

WIP and wish list : a cover with Christmas patterns and two cat and dog covers.

It"s a warm fabric with edelweiss. Fingers crossed for next winter!

There is a new sewing machine Pfaff still in HER box (yes she is a she), I hope I'll be able to get the best of her.

De beaux projets pour ma nouvelle MàC (toujours dans sa boîte, elle m'impressionne un peu...), j'espère être à la hauteur de ses "aptitudes".
