Ces Jeux Olympiques soutiennent la parité femmes - hommes dans les épreuves sportives ainsi que l'égalité entre les JO et les ParaJO.  Ces valeurs apparaissent dans la forme choisie pour la flamme olympique dessinée par Mathieu Lehanneur.

Full gender parity will be an important goal this summer for those Paris 2024 OG.

Mathieu Lehanneur who had designed the flame has choose its symetric shape to show this gender parity and the equality between olympics and paralympics.

La flamme olympique continue son Tour de France, à travers les vignes à cheval, jouant au tennis de table ou , visitant le Mont St Michel avec en autres Thomas Pesquet et même plongeant en apnée avec Alice Motolo près de Villefranche-sur-Mer

She is vice world freediving champion and... dentist.

The Club France and a Fan Zone will be held in the Parc de la Villette.

20 ephemeral pavilions will be installed for this event "Archi-folies 2024" and as DD2 is working there, I hope I'll soon get some images to share.

Le Club France et la Fan Zone s'installent à la Villette, avec une vingtaine de pavillons éphémères pour accueillir les sportifs "Archi-folies 2024". J'espère pouvoir partager bientôt quelques photos puisque Anne-Solène travaille à la Cité des Sciences sur le site.

TOUR DE FRANCE -6- IS STARTING SOON

 I'd like to give you some news about my future Tour de France

as this 6th edition will soon start!

In 2015 we visited towns well known for embroidery, 

then in 2017 towns linked to books and writers

in 2019 it was towns I associated with toys and games,

2021 was the year of colours

In 2023 we sailed on seas, ocean around France and on French rivers.

This year I had a funny idea...

Some of our towns names sound like English words,

so you'll have to find 17 words or verbs or adjectives or adverbs.

Like the towns of Tours or Gap for example.

As usual you'll have a map and the department number in the first stage to avoid getting lost.

Little clues, landmarks, informations will help you (I hope) to suggest names with stages 1 and 2 (planned on Tuesday and Thursday), then on Sunday afternoon you'll get the solution.

I'll show you how DIY bloggers make lovely crafts linked to the city,

the name or the character that had

guided you.

What do you need for this virtual journey :

Maps I'll provide, curiosity, books or internet, leniency for my mistakes writing English and a big shoehorn for far-fetched clues.

I hope you'll like to propose some name of towns, I will reply in the comments and good answers will stay hidden until the Sunday.

Your guides will take you to the stopover towns, and you're sure to recognize some of the characters from previous editions. 

I'm recycling drawings...  for a low-carbon travel.  Ha ha!

Quelques nouvelles de mon futur Tour de France,

car je vais bientôt actionner le starter pour cette 6ème édition.

Les précédentes vous ont fait découvrir de nombreuses cités

dans l'Hexagone, grâce aux thèmes

de la broderie, des livres et leurs auteurs,

puis des jouets et jeux, des couleurs

et enfin l'an passé avec nos marins d'eau douce et d'océan.

Cette fois, il m'est venu une drôle d'idée...

pendant 17 étapes vous allez chercher des noms de villes

à la consonance anglaise !

 verbes, adjectifs, noms, adverbes  tout est permis

un petit exemple comme  Gap  ou  Tours

Pour cette ballade, vous n'aurez besoin que de curiosité,

de cartes, de livres ou d'internet et de petites cellules grises

prêtes à résoudre quelques énigmes un peu facétieuses.

Vous aurez des indices les mardi et jeudi

puis la solution le dimanche avec la découverte d'une région

A l'occasion de l'article dominical, je partagerai quelques

photos de créations en lien avec la ville, le nom ou le personnage

vous ayant servi de guide.

Personnages qui vous guideront vers les villes étapes, vous en reconnaîtrez certainement quelque uns ayant participé aux tours précédents.

J'ai réutilisé certains dessins...    un recyclage contribuant à une empreinte carbone raisonnable pour ce voyage, hé, hé !

Je vous encourage à proposer des noms de villes,

les bonnes réponses resteront cachées jusqu'au dimanche !

MARATHON DAYS

This is a fun/serious project inspired by Jo from Serendipitous Stitching.

Summer solstice day is near to June 20th so she used have her Marathon Day close to it. I have to adjust my own schedule with DH visiting his Mum and two afternoons will give me a free day!

Le solstice d'été approchant est toujours l'annonce d'une journée de broderie marathon mais dû au planning familial je vais plutôt organiser deux après-midi. Jeudi dernier, j'ai donc ressorti du panier à ouvrages les deux points de croix de chez Cuore e Batticuore délaissés à quelques mètres de la ligne d'arrivée ainsi que la Parisienne de Soizic des Jardins de Nana, grille avec laquelle je bataille après avoir fait presque toutes les croix le reste est au point de tige.

Last Thursday I took off the basket three old WIP and my unicorn to work on.

The two Cuore e Batticuore started in the 20s so close to be finished were :

A hammock for two

The arrow was missing on the tree trunk and only a few stitches on the red hat.

and the :  Knitting in quilt

Apparently I haven't done some white dots on the black sheep and the thread of the tea bag

There is a bow above the little house but I won't stitch it as I don't like it.

I'll have to check again but it looks I've got two finishes.

The fourth pattern that came on to the surface of my WIP ocean...

was the Femme de Paris II    started in 2020

I do love the design, but after making almost all the cross stitch there is a lot of stem stitch on the dress, for the hat and the candelabra.

The pattern says one thread in black DMC 310 with looks stupid to me especially for the hat which is a big part. So I'll stitch with 2 threads.

I'm struggling to get the right place to stitch it counting the ranks of threads of the fabric. So I'll follow the pattern the closer I can but no more headache and if I want to finish it there is no other solution than make it my own way.

As I thought my progress were good enough, I had fun with a new start.

A small cross stitch about the wedding of my cousin with an attempt to adapt the pattern that Clare is kindly sharing with me.

End of the marathon, I'm happy with my day!

It's time to go back to real life as an astronaut returning to the Earth.

Sans reprendre les détails susnommés... ma journée marathon se termine. Je suis contente du résultat.

Back to birthdays cards, next to come are Capucine and my friend Marylène on the same day June 30th.

Then there will be DD1 and her son on the same day again July 14th.

For the kids, I have chosen to make pop up cards, a funny frog for my granddaughter and a camping tent for my grandson.

I have add some flowers and her name and age.

Here is my "Dame à la licorne"

I have had my "half marathon day" on Thursday, 

maybe another half on Monday...

DD2 gave me a pattern from Heritage she bought in London for my birthday. It's a recent finish.

I have received from Clare the lovely pattern she made for the wedding of friends. 

 

I hope I'll be able to adapt it for the wedding of our cousin, thanks to Clare.

So soon, it will be one of my WIP.

Small progress on the crocheted dress, Capucine is coming tomorrow so I'm planning a last fitting.

Some news for my Tour de France 6th edition...

I have made some progress on drawings and clues.

DH told me I should start it close to the real Tour de France which is leaving Florence on June 29th.

Which would mean a start on July the 2nd as the first clue will be on a Tuesday. That gave me two weeks to complete the trip. But sometimes it's good to have a deadline, so I'll post my introduction next Tuesday and we'll see if I can meet this deadline.

Quelques nouvelles du Tour de France  6ème édition.

Les dessins et les énigmes progressent. Concernant la date du départ, JB m'encourage à le faire démarrer en même temps que le vrai Tour cycliste c'est à dire début juillet car ma première étape doit commencer un mardi et les coureurs quittent Florence le samedi 29 juin 2024.

Cela me laisse une quinzaine pour tout boucler mais quelque fois avoir une date butoir peut avoir du bon. Je vais donc poster mon article introductif mardi prochain. A suivre...
