Les jours filent et le printemps est là, nous donnant l'occasion de sortir faire quelques ballades...

La semaine dernière, nous sommes allés visiter le château de Talcy.

Les jardins sont encore en habits hivernaux mais les intérieurs sont très jolis et les collections présentées ont été miraculeusement préservées depuis le XVIIème siècle.

Construction 1520 / Propriété de la famille Salviati, un banquier florentin.

Puis les familles Burgeat, Gastebois et enfin Stapfer - protestants Suisses.

Pierre de Ronsard y écrivit son poème "Mignonne allons voir si la rose" (1545).

Catherine de Médicis y rencontra Charles IX en 1562.

Théodore Agrippa d'Aubigné y trouva refuge en 1572.

JJJ 2 LE JEUDI DU JUNK JOURNAL

Cette semaine, je vais vous montrer quelques illustrations ajoutées sur les pages de mon Junk Journal Couture.

This week, I want to show you different additions to the Sewing theme Junk Journal.

I have some ads for DIY shows (cut in sewing magazines) I want to put in the journal.

Some nice postcards I bought many years ago.

Those old sewing patterns, the envelop was too large for the journal but I separated it into two pieces, carefully cut along the dresses, added red and garnet paper

so they can be used as pockets.

Parmi les documents qui vont habiller mon Junk Journal Couture : des affichettes des salons DIY récupérées sur des magazines, des cartes postales achetées il y a très longtemps ou à l'occasion de visite de musées. J'ai également conservé d'anciens patrons de couture, la pochette était trop large mais séparée en deux parties, elle va me permettre de réaliser deux enveloppes. En découpant minutieusement le long des robes et en rajoutant du papier de couleur rouge et grenat cela les met en valeur et ainsi j'obtiens deux pochettes.

Les feuilles teintées au café faites l'automne dernier me seront très utiles.

I'm using too the pages I dyed with coffee last autumn.

Envelopes, folding techniques, die cut, 3D images, maps, napkins, every paper coming into my hands now are looked as papers ready for a second life in my JJ.

Tous les papiers me passant par les mains sont désormais de problables supports en attente d'une deuxième vie dans mon journal. Auxquels viendront s'ajouter des enveloppes, cartes, serviettes, pliages, images 3D, découpages.

Visiting friends I wanted to add something in the flowers I brought

and chose to do two mices, this time with a spring quilt

and mount them on a wood skewer

as they were sleeping in a tulle rose

L'occasion de refaire deux petites souris, cette fois avec un édredon printanier s'est présentée pour agrémenter des fleurs à offrir.

J'espère avant dernière étape de fabrication pour le pull aux hexagones, un essayage définitif étant prévu pour demain !

We'll have a lunch with her in-laws tomorrow,

I hope that in the next photo she will wear it!

and I have some progress on the "cat cushion" for DD2 too

I have sewed this fellow and given him a new hobby

fishing maybe catfish, the little yellow duck button is a joke

for DD2 big fan of ducks.

One more and I'll have to work on a way to crochet them together.

JJJ 1 LE JEUDI DU JUNK JOURNAL

Some months ago I found some tutos on YT about Junk Journal, I never heard of it before and I loved it. Too many WIP for more precise research but entertaining to follow some videos.

I took some screenshots anyway for further scrapbooking projects.

Those past weeks, everyday life was more full of worries and cold days than I needed so I made for myself a prescription for something new, fun and different!

I have always loved papers, their texture. I'm old enough to have learn to write with ink and feathers and I liked it. Of course, before using a computer I was used to save invoices on big accounting books. I have always bought postcards and kept tickets, bills, bags to remember museum visits, holidays. I loved also images from stamps to magazine ads, posters and books, anything printed.

Could be the right time to sort those boxes full of memories and collect them in albums. I'm a fan of travel journal, always dreamed of it but never take the time to make one. Everything connected to sewing could be gathered in a special, particular album.

So time has come for Junk Journaling!

First, collect papers, from school notebook to bags, from tracing paper to paper doily, all kind of white paper, all weights, all shapes,  to make what they call "signatures".

As I'm dedicating this JJ to sewing, I have added some pages with embroidery drawings and some old sewing patterns.

Five signatures attached on an old binder I kept from an geography encyclopedia (long time ago we used to bought every week a booklet on a new country).

Quelquefois les journées se suivent et ressemblent à des jours froids et remplis de soucis, une prescription d'anti baisse de moral s'imposait

quelque chose de nouveau, d'amusant, certainement le bon moment

pour un Junk Journal.

Après avoir découvert des tutos sur YT mis en ligne par des blogueuses très inventives, il était temps de trier ces tiroirs remplis de papiers

de toutes matières, de souvenirs, tickets, cartes postales, affichettes, timbres, mémoires de visites de musée ou d'achats pour la couture.

Première étape : rassembler toutes sortes de feuilles : vieux patrons, papier d'emballages, pochettes, calques, napperons de papier, pages de cahiers, papiers à lettres et les coudre ensemble pour réaliser des blocs

de feuilles et les assembler en album. 

When pages are too large I make a fold (I could use to stick some images).

and how I'll start to decorate the Junk Journal

For a change, I have made a big resolution and instead of put aside the two last Christmas characters from Cuore e Batticuore, I have followed the good advice of a wise friend! 

So here are the fifth and sixth of that serie fully finished with the string around the stitching.
