JJJ 28 LE JEUDI DU JUNK JOURNAL

First day of this new year is a Thursday...

so why not start my 2026 programme with Junk Journaling!

I discovered JJ at the end of 2023 on YT and started to post on Thursdays in March 2024.

I chose a sewing theme for my first JJ and with the discovery of JJ came first mistakes as start to sew the signatures before being sure of how I will decorate the external cover and now with all the decorations I added the cover is broken and the threads distended.

Too many things inside so I have already taken off some thick additionnal pages and will use them to make a second one.

I'll probably have to cut the threads, repair the cardboard, glue a fabric cover and then reattach the signatures. To be followed...

My favorite themes are : art nouveau, medieval, botany, steampunk and ancient egypt, among them I have already decided to start Ancient Egypt JJ.

When we went to Egypt I have collected photos, maps, informations in a classic album. But it was 40 years ago and I would like to "update"  my memories and do a funny JJ.

The two other JJ projects are the second volume of "sewing/embroidery" themed JJ and with the Christmas Countdown came the desire to do one about Christmas and the winter season.

So here I am, the Christmas cover and signatures have been made during the C2C.

A nice way to use one of my Christmas fabric, the dark blue one with the baubles pattern.

So for this 28th post but 1st post of 2026, I have glued simple crocheted chains with Bubble wool to gave some 3d and bright looks to some pages.

among the pages I put in the signatures there are some magazines pictures I don't want to keep but will use the paper as a support to glue on some DIY Christmas ideas I plan to do sometimes.

I'll use ribbons and washi tape to hide perforated pages.

Of course I wanted to use the Advent Calendar shape in the JJ, with 24 small notebook (6cmx6cm) and one big 25th page.

Then I thought I could open my JJ with it and that I could use it to keep the names of Christmas movies I love the watch!

Ce premier jour de l'année étant un jeudi, mes premiers bricolages se sont donc tournés vers la confection de mon journal de Noël.

Je me suis faite prendre dans la toile des JJ fin 2023 sur YT et mes articles dédiés paraissent le jeudi depuis mars 2024. Avec ma première tentative sont venues les premières erreurs et mon JJ couture avec des pages que j'aime beaucoup est malheureusement en piteux état car je pensais pouvoir finaliser la couverture après avoir rempli les signatures. Mais trop gourmande l'épaisseur a eut la peau, si je puis dire, du montage et les fils sont distendus ainsi que la couverture déchirée.

Gros travaux de réparation en perspective...   A suivre !

Par contre, d'autres thèmes m'intéressent comme : l'art nouveau, l'Egypte ancienne, le steampunk, la botanique et l'époque médievale.

Les pharaons seront servis les premiers ! De notre voyage en Egypte j'ai bien sûr à l'époque fait des albums mais j'aimerai rafraîchir un peu mes présentations et faire un JJ amusant avec tout un ensemble de documents rassemblés depuis.

Outre donc le deuxième tome "couture / broderie" j'ai également commencé pour le Countdown 2 Christmas un journal de Noël.

Un joli tissu orné de boules sur fond bleu marine habille le JJ et les signatures sont attachées.

Premières décorations : de simples chaînettes crochetées avec la laine Bubble, elles apporteront un petit effet brillant et 3d.

Autre projet : un calendrier de l'avent que j'ai souhaité lié avec la liste de mes films de Noël préférés !
