"First, a good news! Our first silver medal in skimountaineering!

We found this new sport very interesting. Always fun to discover a new technic."

Gérard :

"For this first attempt, our sponsor didn't gave us a large choice of equipment. Only this light brown vichy fabric in the stash and our visit to the fabric store wasn't productive, too small or too large squares so no purchase."

Nelson :

"But our athlete did his best with a nice white DMC coton perlé and the result deserves the second place and silver medal".

Skimountaineering / Ski Alpinisme

Gérard :

"Do we have any news from the freestyle skiing team!"

Nelson :

"Yes, judges saved our competitor with the repechage session.

She is back with n° 2155 brown thread. And even she dislikes to use this Aurifil Allegro thread, which keep geeting tangled up. Here is her progress"

 

Gérard :

"Do you know Nelson that they used granite stone for the pyramids as well as for the curling stone"

Nelson :

"Yes we chose to link this sport to Ancient Egypt JJ!"

Gérard :

"Nice start then with this small cross stitching representing pyramids in the desert on a light blue linen"

Nelson :

"Some progress too on collecting papers for the signatures!"

Curling

Gérard :

"Any knitting needles involved in those winter olympics games?"

Nelson :

"Of course, big ones! Knitting with n° 10 will go faster"

Gérard :

"But this special wool is very weird and with this irregular thickness I haven't been able to make the first row so I knit it with a small wool and now I'll have to hide it. I'm trying with a crochet stitch"

Nelson :  

"That sounds adventurous"

Mr Topo :   "For sure!"

Biathlon 

Gérard :

"Do snowboarders slide down the slopes?"

Nelson :

"Red, white and black paperboards are out on the worktable.

For DSiL March birthday card"

Gérard :

"I thought it was planned to make an american mailbox card"

Nelson :

"Yes but it turned out that a more personal card would be better. Linked to his favorite games or characters. And after seen pokemon ball card on the net, the decision was made"

Gérard :

"Any idea for the character who may be involved"

Nelson :

"Yes, Tangela. His name is French means Knot bag. And Jocondine drew it in her first Tour de France, so she looked in her archives and used it again"

Gérard :

"With the same look? That wool ball thing?"

Nelson :

"Exactly! He will say "I dressed up to wish you an happy birthday" using the quote "on my 31" which means here "like for December the 31th - New Year's Eve outfits"

Petit bulletin d'infos sur les compétitions en cours avec nos journalistes.

Côté broderie, de petites croix sur le caméléon girafe et sur le paysage désertique autour des pyramides. En ce qui concerne la broderie suisse, premier essai terminé. Nouvelle technique sympa à broder, il me reste maintenant à trouver un marchand de tissu chez qui je puisse acheter le vichy avec des carrés aux dimensions adéquates. Côté tricot, finition au crochet sur le bas des côtes du pull pour cacher les mailles de montage. Côté cartonnage, découpe des ronds pour confection d'une carte pokéball et dessins basés sur le personnage Saquedeneu.
