My small pastry is my WIP for a charlotte cake. Finger cakes about 4 cm long.

Me voilà de retour en cuisine pour fabriquer une mini charlotte composée d'une base ronde en feutrine rose qui contiendra des petits fours

et tout autour des biscuits montés sur du fil à pêche

The "crown" of fingers cakes (attached on a fishing thread) is now glued on the pink cake. As I want to open the charlotte, there is a lid with small kind of meringues.

I have made some petits fours and added glitter and beads.

and more cakes to put inside the charlotte.

I always keep ribbons of all kinds, for example from chocolate boxes so I have sewed a "circle" for the charlotte (you can take off) from the Chocolaterie Royale.

Les rubans de toutes sortes que je conserve à l'occasion me seront bien utiles pour finaliser la décoration. Cette fois, la Chocolaterie Royale participera en habillant le pourtour des biscuits.

Preparing this post some days ago, I got the idea that making a pièce montée could be fun!

I have started to sew small balls of felt.

En écrivant cet article il m'est venu l'idée de faire une pièce montée donc avant de réfléchir au montage tout d'abord confectionner beaucoup de petits choux !

Without an example I'm thinking of sewing a round of "cream puffs" on small circles of pink thick felt to stack one on top of the other. 

I'm starting with 12 then 11 to get the pyramid shape. I don't know yet if I want to glue them all together or let the ranks separate so you can serve them in the plates to play with the dolls. 

I even have the solution to cut a hole in the middle and to make a cone as a support like for a real pièce montée - I watched pastry tutos about petits choux, croquembouches and profiteroles to help me!

As a big fan of pâte à choux making cheese gougères for aperitif is often my first choice!

Je me suis donc embarquée dans la fabrication de mini boules représentant les petits choux. Je pense les coudre sur une base de feutrine rose épaisse. Après il y a différentes solutions, empiler des cercles et les fixer les uns sur les autres pour obtenir l'effet pyramide, les faire tenir sur un cône ou bien les laisser séparés pour pouvoir servir les gâteaux dans des assiettes.

J'ai même regardé des tutos de pâtisserie sur le net pour m'inspirer.
